I had a bad tooth, who i've been treating for 5 months. My tooth almost healed and i had to have it sealed. One month after my last visit to the dentist my cheek started feeling numb with a little pain in my jaw and hotness around my gums and my whole mouth. The dentist, who is a good dentist in general imo. didn't find any reasons for my symptoms which i described now. X-rays showed that there were no abnormalities with the tooth. The dentist sealed the bad tooth after the x-ray, but the numbness and hot sensations didn't go away and are ongoing for 3 weeks. I have arthritis on my jaw which is worse now and i have difficulty eating.

I went to a dentist surgeon, who said that i must wait 20 days and get a x-ray again to tell me what must be done. He recommends to take medicine with vitamins B1, B6 and B12.

Has somebody else had such symptoms after tooth treatment? Is this all because of my abstinent symptoms ?

I appreciate all responses and advice.

Hi,

I haven't had symptoms like that after dental treatment, but our bodies are very sensitive in withdrawal and recovery.

I hope you feel better.

Hi. I'm a dental hygienist. Wait 20 days for what exactly? You have tmj use hot compresses on your jaw, soft diet. In terms of the numbness you didn't have an extraction?
