51 days off and very depressed

Hey buddies-I got no mojo after almost two months.  I am depressed and worried about everything, I feel just blah, and my stomach is still twisting around.  I need a pep talk badly...I think I should be feeling better.

51 days off of this poison! You are doing FANTASTIC! I can tell you that when I jumped from .25 back in December (after a fast taper from 2 mg over 2.5 months) that I was pretty okay for weeks 1 and 2. If you look at my signature below, you will see that in weeks 3 & 4, it all went to hell, and i suffered IMMENSELY weeks 4-6. I really feel that if I would have been able to convince myself that I did not have some terrible, awful disease that the docs could not find and that I'd be dead in weeks (I LITERALLY thought this! I still kinda DO!) that I would have very likely turned a corner by 8 weeks.

So - here is your pep talk. You are 51 days off benzos (be proud!), you could still definitely be in the acute withdrawal phase (mine lasted WELL over 6 weeks!) and better days are JUST around the corner!

I'm so excited for you!  :)

Hey,

I still felt crushing depression even 10 months after jumping off valium. It was my worst symptom although by no means the only one. It eventually lifted after a year but like a fool I went back on valium due to being unable to sleep for days. Now I'm right back where I started.

It will get better but it might take a year.

Thanks you guys!!!  I am less depressed now but my stomach (and particularly my bowels)  are all over the place.  Constipation - it's a good thing I was taking Linzess before.  It hurts my stomach to sneeze as it is so tight.  I was in tolerance withdrawal for at least 3 years - I think this explains all of the strange post-withdrawal maladies.  Too bad most of us have to figure out the tolerance withdrawal phenomenon on our own.  I feel sorry for anyone who has a doctor that just keeps upping the dose.  (E.g. Stevie Nicks - she went through hell).  Hang in there and hope for good things to come.  Thanks again!
