Hi,

I have a script for Propanolol to help with my WD during taper.

Script says 10mg as needed.

I just made a cut yesterday and I can certainly feel it today (though thank God it is at most uncomfortable- not scary)

Propanolol "as needed" users, how do you dose this?

I've taken 10mg so far today (2 hours ago) and I don't quite think it's working at all.

If size matters, I am pretty small (116lbs)

Carrie, it is a beta blocker, it slows my heart rate and lowers blood pressure, both of which can be elevated in withdrawal.  I would ask your doctor how much to take.

At the most, I took 20mg 2-3 times/day.

You do realize the propranolol will only ease the physical effects of WD, tremors, rapid heart rate, etc?

Carrie. Ask your doctor. No one on here can answer that.

I also have a prescription for this...20 mg daily. It does not cause me to "feel" any different, but one of my first symptoms after beginning my taper was shaking hands. This symptom has been completely eliminated. It can be effective. You just won't notice any mental relief at all.

I weigh about the same as you and I was taking 30 mg regularly for months.. I am trying to cut back but my anxiety is def.  ramped up.  I am hoping it's temporary.
