Hi all!

So I'm not really sure if I have anything I worry about, but I figured I'd post anyway.

So I have a MRSA abscess that the doctor wants to treat with a round of doxycycline. Pre benzo I've taken it in the past no problems. Never took it during withdrawal so not sure about effects there.

With me being 4.5 years out (total about 3-3.5 years healed), do I need to worry about drug interactions anymore? Can old symptoms still be brought back this far out? Or should I be fine with the doxycycline?

Thanks!

I'm on doxy now and noticed a huge flare in all my symptoms and new ones I never had like stinging nerve pains all over my body. I just read somewhere that doxy is a serotonin antagonist - kind of like getting floxxed but with serotonin instead of gaba. It is actually used in laboratory animals to simulate depression.

If doxy antagonizes my serotonin, does that mean that when I quit, I have a rebound of better serotonin function?

Laboratory animals live a life of utter despair and depression as it is, no need to simulate it with drugs.  >:(

Doxycyline has been fine in my experience.  It's cipro, zpack, flagyl, and sulfa drugs that you need to be wary of with antibiotics.

Why z pack if you don't mind my asking? I've taken it several times and did okay with it.

Z packs are bacteriacidal and annihilate your flora. Doxy is only bacteriastatic.
