6 months free since last benzo, 8 months free of Ambien!

Honestly never thought I'd be here writing about 6 months. I didn't feel I took anything long enough to endure something so awful but here I am and it's not over yet, but things are definitely looking up.

At 5 months I didn't feel like celebrating, things were rough. A few days into month 6 I got a 4 day window and a break from the unrelenting nerve / muscle pain that was with me since 3 1/2 months. Month 6 has not been easy but it has been easier. A lot has improved this month. Most days I have times feeling close to normal, but the mornings are tough with muscle pain.

Things that are gone or mostly gone since my 4 month update:

DR - 100% gone I think! (5 1/2 months)

Neck tension - 99% gone

Body buzzing - 95% gone

Anxiety - gone I think

Toxic mornings - gone (5 1/2 months)

Sleep has improved a lot, starting to get 7+ hrs though waking a few times but being able to fall back asleep (big improvement from the 4-5 I was getting), probably due to anxiety / toxic mornings going away. Not using sleep aids now, just magnesium / cortisol manager.

Depression - mostly gone

double vision 90-95% gone (6 months)

blurry vision (5 1/2 months)

What I still have:

Awful muscle ache / neve pain every day once I get up and moving - anywhere from 2-5 hours on a level of 2/10 to 5/10 intensity

Slight hyperacousis, but mostly gone (when someone sneezes / coughs)

Body twitch when surprised by random sound

Tinnitus - mostly gone but comes roaring back at times

Music loops - comes and goes

Eye muscle pain - pretty bad at times and just about every day this last week

short term memory is a bit hit and miss

Body tingles

Warm hands

Occasional GI

Some surges occasionally when trying to get back to sleep in the morning, though intensity has dropped a lot.

crying spells (usually from pain / frustration rather than depression)

some fatigue but getting better

When I'm not in pain I feel 90-95% ok. If the pain would go I feel the rest of recovery would be quite tolerable. I'm trying CBD oil now to see if I can get some relief, OTC pain meds do nothing at all.

I've been able to go back to work PT, go out and do things I need to do, go to restaurants, movies, yoga class, swimming, running, bike rides almost every day (I feel normal when I ride). Libido has come back and I can connect with my fiance which I'm very thankful for (sex feels better than ever now!). Functional and able to enjoy life a little more finally, but still struggling at times. Hopefully things will start to get easier soon..

6 1/2 months now.,,

The first week of month 7 was not fun and carried on the fairly difficult month 6. The last 4 days however things have improved a lot! Mornings have been a bit challenging but by 11am I've felt close to normal each and every day. The mornings have been slowing improving too, today wasn't too bad. The nerve pain waves have eased up quite a bit, however I had a couple of 1 hr intense ones yesterday. I've just started taking alpha lipoic acid now to see if that will help at all, too early to say yet since I've only taken it 2 days so far.

Overall I'm trending to go from 37 hour of symptoms the past 2 weeks to just 15 this week! That would be the best in over 3 months.

I also have been feeling more energy and excitement and happiness, wanting to do things rather than avoiding them and looking forward to stuff again  :)

Perhaps I've finally turned that corner, fingers crossed..
