Hi,

I was on klonopin for almost 22 years until I could not deal with it's side affects of anxiety and depression, and decided to taper off of the 4mg per day dose I was on in June 2016. I completed my taper in Dec. 2016.

I am now in WD and my anxiety and depression haas gotten worse! I also have a host of other physical and mental symptoms I never ever had.

I'm now feeling utter hopelessness and helplessness and have no where to turn for help.

I'm hoping this forum can help me understand what I'm going through as being "normal" WD symptoms and that there may be an end to this in near future...

Regards,

Lanister

Hi Lanister  Welcome to benzobuddies

I am glad that you found us, sorry you’re having a rough time of it.    The withdrawal symptoms can be very severe at times but they are temporary, they will go eventually.  You will receive plenty of support here from people who know what your going through, hang in there!

The Ashton Manual is a very good resource about benzo withdrawal.  It will give you information about the recovery process. I will put a link here: : Professor Ashtons Manual

Congratulations on being benzo free. Please feel free to ask questions, we have many supportive and kind members here who will support you and give sound advice. Feel free to check out the forum and post to any of our dedicated threads.

Here is a link to our Post withdrawal recovery support.

If you would be so kind as to add a signature (history of meds/doses etc) it will help members give you relevant advice this link will show you how to  ”Create a signature”

Welcome aboard It will get better

Welcome Lanister!! After taking benzos for as long as you did it is not unusual to still be experiencing symptoms at 3 months out. You body is still healing from the withdrawal. I am at 10 months out after going off xanax after 30 years of use- and it is only in the last couple months that I have started to feel like I am really healing and getting back to my old self. So be patient and buckle up your seat belt- it may be a bit of a bumpy ride but please know that healing does happen even after many years of use.
