I just jumped off clonazepam

Hi there,

I've started using clonazepam 6 months ago and decided to taper 2 and a half months ago from the 0,5mg dose I was taking . I stayed om .25 for 1 month and then .125 for two weeks and now nothing.

I am experiencing high levels of anxiety, excessive thinking along with muscle spasms and inner ear problems including tinnitus. Hoping for full recovery soon!

Thanks for accepting me in the community!

Cheers,

Rafael

Hello Rafael  Welcome to BenzoBuddies!

I'm sorry you are suffering, withdrawal is awful and symptoms can be severe for a while but it will ease off with some time.  We are glad you found us, I think you will find some comfort communicating with those who are in the same situation as you are.  Congratulations on being benzo free.!

We have many supportive and kind members here who will support you and give sound advice. Feel free to check out the forum and post to any of our dedicated threads.

I don't know if you had read the Ashton Manual when you were going through your taper. It is an excellent resource about these types of medication and their effect on the body.

Here is a link to the manual: Professor Ashtons Manual

When you have a chance please write a signature line that will appear at the bottom of each post, describing your medication history. Here are the directions to do that: Create a signature

welcome. You don't say how recently you jumped. If it was recently you are likely in the acute phase of withdrawal. This is when symptoms are their very worst. This phase typically lasts about 4 to 6 weeks. Once past that there is some noticeable relief felt and it is a gradual healing process past that. :smitten:

Thank you for your messages! I've jumped 6 days ago so yes, I am in acute withdrawal. The worst thing for me to deal with in the doubt about how many time will my body need to heal. Specially when I hear different stories from different persons.  :(

Anyway thanks for having me and I hope to be publishing a success story soon.

Congratulations. There are many resources on here about coping with anxiety and withdrawal. It's tough but you can do it.
