Intrusive and negative thoughts?? Possible paranoia??

I set up for a new Dr tomorrow since my other was rushing the taper and just an all around awful dr.. and I'm having so many negative thoughts. I don't know if it's my anxiety or what.. I keep thinking I'll go in and be yanked off the medications and be forced to go cold turkey despite being told the dr was wanting to work on my case. I mean this is what I got from the assistant:

I have been assured that PA will take on your case, and do his best to handle it according to your needs. I have prefaced him on your situation, and he is prepared to treat your needs. I did forewarn him that you are working on the taper, and your concerns with doing so. He understands, but prefers to speak more directly with you, so that nothing is lost in communiction. Please let me know if after your appointment tomorrow you have any concerns or feel that you did not have all of your questions answered.

I then got a personal call from the Provider himself saying he was glad I picked him as my provider and he gave me his email and personal cell phone to call if I had any questions or concerns. He wanted to do anything to help me.

Is this my benzo head messing with me and overthinking everything?? Felt really positive earlier and just took my last dose of the night so maybe that's what it is..

I think that sounds very optimistic! Let us know how the appointment goes today!

New Dr sent me an email back, I feel much better!!

You are more than welcome for taking on your case! We will work on this together. Don't worry at all. If we are tapering too fast we will slow down. If it takes us several months or longer that is more than ok. We will talk much more about it at your visit. Looking forward to meeting you.

So, my dr is awesome! He told me we're gonna do this as slow as I want. He gave me a few options of keeping on the Valium or switching to klonopin but I just couldn't see myself switching to another drug.. now I'm second guessing..

Basically he said since I'm super stable on 8mg of valium right now, try going to 6mg and if it's too hard, he'll re-instate the 8mg immediately and maybe try going to 7mg from there.

Either way, much better dr than the last one
