Need support: Feeling of extreme "tentativeness" ????

Some things have gotten better for me as of late. I'm about three months out and the DP/DR has let up as well as the severe anxiety. So that's good! What I'm struggling with so much is EXTREME LETHARGY and this feeling of EXTREME TENTATIVENESS. By tentative I mean, I just feel so so so hesitant in this weird way to do simple things. For example, I was going to clean my desk, and I was standing in front of it, holding a book, and I was just like "I can't do this." Then I sit down and I'm going to write a cover letter for something, and again I feel like it's utterly impossible. Or, just outside, reaching to pick up something off the ground, I have to FORCE myself to make the action. It's not exactly fear, I'm just ... extraordinarily tentative. And now since other symptoms have let up I'm stuck in this worry loop where I'm like, is this just me? Am I just a lazy POS? Am I just a loser?

Please, need support, need reassurance that this is normal for withdrawal. Other experiences of this sensation would be much appreciated, especially for those who had it let up!!!!

I wrote essentially the exact same post some time ago. It FEELS like you are procrastinating even though you never proscrastinated-at least not at this level-before. Ive been having glimpses of the "tentativeness"/procrastination fleeing ie i have been naturally, without thought, MOVING and performing small tasks that have been most difficult up to this point. Now drop down and gve me 50!

Hey SiqG!

I read thru some of your prior posts. I also had indescribable terror. I was hallucinating evil creatures in my dark bedroom/dead of the night.. I once saw a 3 foot long rat with an evil sneer and long razor sharp fangs jump out of my ceiling and disappear inches from my face amongst many other fun things as my brains on glutamate fueled hyperdrive.  My terror didnt subside until like month 7-8 so all misery concerned you are on a decent trajectory. That Kpin is a real beast and this experince will make a monk out of an atheist! Good luck girl!

I couldn't get anything done when I came off.

So I started making lists of things to do every morning. After completing each item, I would cross out the task and then put a checkmark next to it.

Helped me tremendously.

Hi siqgirl

Remember your still early in healing. This is sooooo normal. Just s part of withdrawal.  I don't mean that in the way that it supposed to be simple I just mean it in the way that it's thoroughly normal it's nothing to be afraid of even though it's scary as heck. Your totally at a normal place for your time frame.  It all gets better and it all will go away I remember being exactly like that couldn't even clean the top of my dresser just stood there and looked at it like I was disabled or something  It's very weird. But it's withdrawal.  Time is all you need and more time and then some more time. Your getting there you'll do this.

Much healing your way ❤️

At one point I diagnosed myself as "terminally tentative."  Those were my words.  I'm well now.  It's normal.  It goes away.  You can't help it.  Try not to beat yourself up too much about it.  Just accept that it's normal and make each day the best you can under the circumstances. :smitten:
