When is it safe to jump?

At what dose is it safe to jump off a benzo? Meaning 0 seizure risk and 0 chance of hallucinating (had that happen to me at the begging of my taper). Obviously, it may be slightly different from person to person, benzo to benzo, but surely there is a general rule of thumb?

Personally, I plan to taper as close to 0 as possible before I jump, but am curious about this nonetheless. I'd like to know when I'm in the safe zone, or in home stretch so to speak. I'm currently at .84mg Ativan or 8.4mg Valium equivalency. I've seen a few posts mention jumping from 2.5mg Valium is difficult, but safe. Is this accurate?

Probably want to get below 0.050 mgs to minimize symptoms when your jump.

Seizure risk is pretty minimal anyway unless you have a predisposition for having seizures.  I jumped from 2.0 mgs.  No seizures.  As for hallucinations - who knows??  Have you been having hallucinations during your taper?

I jumped from .125 mg but feel like I could have stopped earlier without problems. From what I understand, seizure risk is minimal when quitting lower doses.

I can only speak for Ativan. I jumped from .25, which was super low for me and I felt eh the first day or so, but now im on day 6 and feel so much better ! I feel like you literally can just be making yourself sick by tapering "Too long". But do it when you feel the most comfortable.

Seizures during Benzo Withdrawal only ever happen if:

1.You have a TBI

2. You have a history of Seizures or a Seizure disorder

3. You Cold turkey from a very very high dose after long term use.

I jumped at .25 mg of klonopin after a rather rapid taper that I did pretty well with, and ended up in absolute withdrawal hell, just as bad almost as when I ct/d 2 mg almost 3 years ago!

I'll be going down to as low as possible, and make sure that I hold there for at least a month. I got greedy at the end, because I felt so good and things didn't get really kooky until I was about 3 weeks off.

I'd go as low as you can, if possible.

Badsocref. Yeah I had them once when I cut from 2 to 1.5mg in 4 weeks. Basically I meant psychosis where u lose touch with reality. It kind of felt like that when I started hallucinating. Had no idea what was going on. Did you not experience anything like that when you ct?

I had the semi-psychosis! Both when I ct'd off 2 mg., and again (although not nearly as bad) when I jumped from .25 mg after a fairly rapid taper. It sucked. But I recovered each time after about 3-5 days.

I took it way slow with my K taper and jumped at .006 mg. I plan to jump from my Valium at .25 mg as I know that dose will do nothing for me. And I feel good right now and don't think I will have any problems with it. But best listen to your body as it will tell you when it's time to jump.

I started at .5mg of klonopin and feel if I had jumped at .25mg I would have been in a world of hurt as .25 mgk is about 5mg of valium so almost a cold turkey.

I got down to .01mg of k or the equivalent of .2mg of valium and held that for 2 weeks then jumped.

Yeah, I had some 'interesting' days.  Day 8 in particular.  Felt just like I was on mushrooms (something I'd not done for many decades).  That kind of experience probably scares a lot of people.  I kind of enjoyed that day (I was so happy).

Are you tapering valium or something else?
