Is there anything that helps intense exercise or moderate exercise? Grasping at straws here don't want to go back up.

When I was in acute withdrawal, my startle response was off the charts. Pure terror if someone spoke when I was dozing off, or I thought I saw something out of the corner of my eye.

I couldn't watch TV or listen to the radio. Try and hold and white knuckle through it, and distract yourself at every turn. I want to say it took about 2 weeks, but probably not even that long.

Your body just needs time to stabilize on this new dose. I know how frightening it is when you're in it, however. The craziest things would startle me and I felt like I was going to have a heart attack from it.

This is all normal. I also had adrenaline rushes really bad as well. In fact, I'm now getting those again, since I lowered my dose 9 days ago. oh joy. This will pass and you will get better!

Thank you so much twinkle, how can I support you? Thank you so much.

Do the adrenaline rushes end? At some point? I never feel good when I hold and I want to keep cutting 0.1 per day. Is this the right thing to do?

I have been taking propranolol to control adrenaline rushes since October.  I decided this week to taper off of it due to some annoying side effects and to see if I really still need it.  I must say, when I have really needed it has been very helpful and I'm glad for it.

Do you take it PRN or regularly

It's like everywhere I turn there's an adrenaline rush waiting and my stomach is upset and I have to plan when I swallow so I don't get scared

I've been taking 10 mg X 3 per day and more as needed.  I am going to try to switch to 'as needed' only.

You may just gotta ride it out for a bit. This too shall pass. Look into hydroxicine as a medication. Its non habit forming so u could stop it whenever also.

I just want someone to know how hard this is and feel sympathy for me, sometimes it's hard to do this alone

Thanks, I'm glad it works for some people. I took  propranolol  and I couldn't breathe for a while so I'm left to ride this out by myself

Is this right??? -your on 2v -from 10v in Dec/Jan and cutting at 0.1v a day -or 3v per month??

If thats right, it might be a tad fast!!!

Yet im sure there are some who could do this... -we just dont see them on BB much...

Are you allergic to it?

Posted
Okay hold it 2 mg. I feel like such a failure though. I made so much ground. I guess I have to be flexible and try something different. Is holding normal?
Posted
No, I don't think I'm allergic to propranolol but I had trouble breathing while I was on it. Also, while you hold how long does it take to get you feeling better
Posted
I've read that holding is healing is this true?
Posted
Good information there thank you so much. Still have this lingering feeling of unfinished business while I'm doing my hold but the long game is the winning game I think.

I hear you... many of us  that are holding have to counter the urge to continue tapering on the odd good day or two... Benzo mind games are strong...

But i could make a case that in the long run (to healed, not just jump point), holding when needed can be quicker, and with less pain or risk of reinstating...

But some people wish to get off faster and feel they will heal better with no meds... each to their own, i guess...

I just had to stop tapering and hold.. I even updosed a little.  I have adjusted to the idea I wont be done when I planned to be.  I have had 6 really miserable months.. I might just take the rest of the year to taper the last 2 mg..
