Hi. I noticed this site and thought it might be helpful for me. I have not taken benzodiazepines, but am withdrawing from gabapentin and many of the symptoms are the same -- since it is also a gaba drug. I had to do a quick 3-week taper since I was having severe parethesia (skin burning sensation) which got worse with each reduction and at the beginning of the withdrawal and because of that quick taper, the withdrawal symptoms are more severe than they may have otherwise been. I am 5 1/2 weeks into the withdrawal and making a little progress.  I have already been encouraged by what others have written regarding the symptoms I have endured and the encouragement that has been given.  Since I have not found as many success stories on the gabapentin withdrawal sites so far, I thought I'd include this site as a source of help.  Thank you for being here.

While we are primarily a benzodiazepine withdrawal forum, we have had members who are or have taken Gabapentin .  I personally don't have any experience about this medication but I will give you a couple of links to threads about these drugs. I am aware that it needs to be tapered in a similar fashion to benzo tapering, well done to you for tapering off them.
