Have I ruined my taper with rescue doses?.

I couldn't stand the crazy levels of anxiety last week and took one 0.5mg Klonopin extra on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

Have I ruined my taper because of this?, or can I continue with 0.5mg?.

I'd just go back to my original dose and not worry about it. I'm sure at times many do this at some point. Doubt you've ruined anything. B

Unfortunately i have done the same thing as you several times with Valium.

It's something i'm not proud of, but i found it necessary at the time.

I think the whole taper is a long process.

Therefore i don't think anything is ruined.

It takes time for Gaba to go both ways - To upregulate and to down regulate.

It's easy to say, but try not to worry too much, you'll be fine.

You've screwed up the blood levels of Klonopin but that will sort itself out within a week or two. You could hold for the time being, as you may experience a nasty rebound, or at least increase in symptoms, and I wouldn't want to reduce during that.

Bain, you sure have made progress.

I would just steady at 0.5 and try to stay there awhile.

A little perspective.... you started at 2 mg per day... and just updosed 0.5 x 4 over a week which is 2 mg.

I would call your taper ruined if you went back to your full dose for a couple of weeks.

We sure can be hard on ourselves, eh?

I have a flight in a week and a half, and fully plan on carrying 1.0 mg of K with me on the flight in case.  I am going to get lots of exercise the day before, and will be meditating in the waiting area beforehand.  But,  for now, I am not ready to go on a flight without a rescue dose at my disposal.  Visualize a 200 lb man running down the aisle screaming "help", over and over at the top of his lungs.

:P
