Rage cause by Flexeril?

Had a terrible bout of rage this morning,and I am wondering if this is maybe cause by flexeril, a muscle relaxer?  I was prescribed it to help with jaw clenching, TMJ and I have been taking it on and off at night for 3 weeks now.  I am noticing it is not really working that well at night and then this morning I was just so angry, and I was yesterday too.  I also am in my 2nd month off of SSRI AD, so it could be that instead, or also.  It's so hard to figure this out.

Well, it happened again.  I didn't take it for a week and I had a night of extreme jaw clenching so I took one again and I had the rage the next day.  I am thinking this could also just be my SSRI withdrawal.  Or perhaps a combination of flexiril and SSRI withdrawal.  It's not going well so I'm not going to take it again anytime soon.

I got violent fantasies and rage dump all the time after quitting AD's.

 

Flexeril has a half-life of 12-36 hours, so it's quite possible the med was interfering on some level.

Thanks for replying.  Yeah, I just don't know what to do with these violent fantasies.  Haven't been taking the flexeril and still have 'em, so I putting it on the SSRI withdrawal.

If I remember correctly, the anger and rage issues seemed to wane over time. Then it becomes an issue of damage control and other symptoms like depression, hopelessness, etc.

Flexiril is a love hate drug for me too.  It helps me sleep on the first night.  Can't take any more for at least a week after that.  I was getting rage just on valium alone but flexeril was giving me additional hangover, brain fog, and zapping energy.  I only use it as a last resort when insomnia is unbearable.  In the literature it says  flexeril only works for 14 days.  If I was already taking an AD I wouldn't touch it.  At the very least check drug interactions with your other meds.
