Hi All,

I've read Lot of stories that seem similar to mine but sometimes I really feel like I've gone crazy! I've googled the symptoms of schizophrenia and bipolar amongst many other things.

Ok so almost 2 years ago I cut my Klonopin (took for 6-7 years for anxiety).

May 2015-2.0mg-1.5-no real symptoms..maybe some minor anxiety/stomach issues

November 2015 (I think)-1.5mg-1.0mg..same as 1st cut..no significant symptoms

I held at 1mg due to planning my wedding for October 2016

November 2016-1.0mg-.5..minor symptoms (headaches, irritability, stomach issues) and then all of a sudden in January (2.5 months after cut) BAM! I woke up one day and had no idea what happened. Crippling anxiety, intrusive thoughts, intense migraines, insomnia, dizziness, depression, etc. I was pretty bad off for about 2 weeks and then gradually started to get better. Last week, I felt great!! No real symptoms, positive outlook/attitude and then Wednesday it hit me again. Terrible violent/sexual intrusive thoughts/images, sweating, insomnia, panic Attacks, no appetite. I read these stories but how can it be that I had no issues the first 2 times and this time (after 2 months) feel like I need to be checked in somewhere. I'm also terrified I will never get off the other .5 because I don't think I can go through this again! Please help me if you have had a similar experience!

When I first tried a cut mid 2016 I was able to do this but was hit with protracted withdrawls. Benzos are unpredictable and their Withdrawal symptoms wax and wane in intensity. If done too quickly some doctors speculate you could take years to heal but, again, that's speculation. All I know is I got down to 1 mg much like you and was great for 3 months and then BAM debilitatingly ill. Take it with a grain of salt but maybe updose and hold to .75 or 1 mg until you stabilize because while I congratulate you on your progress so far you body is obviously NOT congratulating you. You'll see several people here have cuts of .125 mg in their signature for a reason.

Also a lot of folks here think percentage of cut is what matters and not actual mg cut. So as you approach zero these .5 mg cuts are actually becoming tremendous leaps.

I think those large cuts finally caught up with you. If it were me (and it was me) you might want to do a  dry MT. You can find all the help you need on KK. I tapered very slowly and had no problems. I also did a MT...........

I agree! That's what my doctor told me to do..but as we know, most of them seem to be clueless about the withdrawals. What is MT? I'll have to look into it!

MT=Micro taper. It can be either liquid or dry. The theory is being you cut by just a tiny amount every day, so your brain does not feel the cut. IOW, smaller but more frequent cuts are far better than larger cuts that are less frequent.  So your brain keeps up rather than catching up. :smitten:

Ahh ok! Makes sense! Thank you so much!

That last cut from 1 mg down too .5 mg was a 50% cut.  It is recommended you cut no more than 5 to 10% in a two week period.  I kedp my cuts under 10%  a month.

mine are even lower than that. I can't handle what Ashton says anymore.
