Today is day 30 and I'm sleeping better, (taking 1/4 of a Melatonin pill) am able to participate in the world, and I'm so grateful! It's been a long, hard, treacherous at times ride, but getting stronger every day. I still have the Tinnitus, some visual problems, am still sensitive to some sounds, but life is good and getting better! I'm seeing my acupuncturist regularly which I think is helping so much! She saw me on day 6 when I was in deep with all the side effects. You name it, I had it. I'm back to Pilates, but feel like a newborn baby and just have to be ok with that. I am still weak and fatigued, very raw and fragile. But, I am drug free and that is the cherry on the sundae! Oooh, that sounds good. My appetite is back and hope to gain the 7 pounds I lost. I was told Friday that detox from Norco (was taking 2 and a half daily for 6 yrs for chronic pain issues and sometimes a bit more, but never more than 4 daily), less than prescribed by the pain management dr and .25 xanax and rarely .50 xanax daily could take 45 days minimum. Took the xanax since 2008 irregularly for travel and in the last yr or more for sleep. Low doses right? Well, cold turkeying kicked my butt! The dr thinks my "pheontype" might process the shorter half life of the xanax to a longer half life. I mean, do they really know? At least he validated me which felt good. So, cheers to all you warriors and tomorrow is day 31! I'll consider it a blessing to not count anymore. Being drug free is freedom! G-d bless!

Thanks for your comments and so happy you all are doing better or well! And, to hear that my comments have helped someone forge onward with hope is the absolute reason I wrote my truths. If I can help one person, I know my journey (from hell) was a meant to be. Today is day 45 and I am so grateful. Yes, I have the Tinnitus, but it doesn't overwhelm me and most of the day I'm not even aware of it. This last week I took care of my almost 18 month old granddaughter while my new granddaughter was born and I haven't genuinely laughed so much in such a long time. Pure in the moment joy!

It's so beautiful to live life on life's terms now. No pills! I have to say I'm a little fearful when taking anything like Advil. I sometimes look twice. I never again want to take a mind altering/brain altering substance!

Our bodies are well oiled and magical machines; if we just let them work.

Good luck to you on your sober journeys and each day really is a new beginning.

Thank you all for your honesty and heartfelt truths! You can't know how great-full I am for BB!! You were there at a time when no one else understood and the wealth of information here is indescribable. To life, to life, L'Chiam!!
