Hi guys, sorry I post so often. I find lately that in my 3rd week holding I get really slammed. I feel it in my first week too. I'm on day 9 and its a bit rough but from past experience it gets even worse on day 20 onwards

So I'm confused as to how I can reduce bi weely if when I hold for a month week 3 is a disaster. If I cut bi weekly instead of monthly wouldn't I just be symptomatic all the tiime? Any advice will be appreciated :)

I'm so pissed off as I only did a 3% cut this time and it still sucks.

Hey sonia...

by everything i understand, the new cuts should be a fair bit easier overall, I sure hope thats how it works out for you... I think it probably a good thing that you ended up cutting a bit less while you sort things out a bit... Maybe you just need a little catch up/healing time... maybe skip the cut in 5 days and see how the month plays out? -just a thought...

All the best at getting into a pattern that works for you...

Thank you Can'tfly

Yeah I may hold here for a month and then do 2% cuts every two weeks :)

We shall see how it goes

Cannot wait for no more cuts! I just want to be off already lol

Just a question-is 3 months V use causing WD symptoms this serious or is the taper and thereby continuation of V making it worse? I'm benzo naive...learning the hard way, but I've been on Xanax about the same amount of time as your V use, and sometimes I question if my taper is causing me to become more dependent than I was initially. Does that make sense?

And just for clarity, I am NOT suggesting a CT quit. Just really curious about your thoughts on this since we've both been on benzos for the same amount of time.

good question... -those were my exact thoughts at the start... -october november... some weeks i was taking no benzo at all...

I got as low as i could as quick as i could... if only i knew... im paying now...

So sure, i didnt need to slow taper from 20 V... -but 2.5 V was way wrong... but at 3 months im still getting new sx from December...

Tough question, no one answer...

In my particular situation i suspect i should have started somewhere around 7-8 V...  But there are other medication complications to consider too, in my case... -same for many others too...

I think thats why tapering by symptoms SX is so important...

Cheers...

Excellent advice, Cantfly. Tapering by symptoms...I'm so hell bent on getting off this drug as fast as possible that I was determined to taper a certain amount within a certain amount of time regardless...this forum is teaching me to listen to my body more than my mind.

It's reassuring I'm not the only one who has pondered this, however! Thank you!  :smitten:

Small daily cuts are making this doable for me.

I hope it hasn't made my dependence worse.

I was only on 3 months too and been tapering since August.

I have a friend who was on less than that and is still tapering too. I think once you're depemdedmt you are dependent and as long as you are reducing then that's all you can do. I hope I haven't made this harder on myself by slowly tapering :(

Smaller more frequent cuts work great for me. But the lower I go might not be as frequent. But holds longer than two weeks simply don't work for me..still feel crummy on and on so I make my cuts...and surprisingly often feel better. But everyone is different. B
