Quick history:

Was on diazepam for 8 years , was prescribed 28mg a day when taper started.

Started taper actually felt better from 28mg down to about 14mg (2mg per week) then it bit hard.

First attempt I got down to 2mg then fucked it up and ended back on 10mg feeling very sick. Don't do it guys!

It then took a year and a half to do the 10mg by splitting 2mg tablets in quarters

Got down to 0.5mg week before Christmas and held it until March 3rd where I flushed the rest and strapped in for the ride.

It's been two weeks and I have had zero symptoms . Like nothing at all. I sleep better, I eat better, I can exercise again as fatigue has gone. I am drinking alcohol also , not every day prob 2 times a week but it's so weird I feel awesome. Is this a window? I expected hell on earth after 8 years but I feel fine.

Will this just stay like this now or am I gonna be crucified in a few weeks?

You may be one of the lucky ones👍🏻😁😁😁😁

Go with it. But if you hit a bad patch stay positive and you you'll do fine. 👍🏻

Diazepam has a long half life, so it can take a while for withdrawal to set in. But it sounds like you took things nice and slow, that definitely improves your odds of having a smooth recovery.

All the best and well done on kicking the benzos after 8 years.

I hope you're one of the lucky ones, but many report that the first 2 weeks are remarkably symptom free, then all hell breaks loose.

But there are a set of people that can quit there drugs with almost no issues.  I hope you're one of them.

Your long taper and small step off dose will certainly weight in your favor.

If you've tapered for over a year, you're probably fine.
