Good News! Got through to my doctor!

Been thinking about my meltdown this morning and visit to the dr today for my pre existing cervical dystonia. I brought benzobuddies.org info that talked about the small number of people who have lengthy withdrawal and how tapering slowly was necessary.

Last time I was there I was making unspeakable noises because I was tapering too fast. That day I lost credibility with him.

This time:

1. I explained benzos and gave him documents, made sincere plea for him to keep an open mind

2. While I was being treated I had seizures in front of him but he hung in there with me and waited.

3. By the time he was done he said he never saw anyone with such odd symptoms of cervical dystonia which included my head going all different directions. Most people only lean or turn one direction!

AND

4. He conceded that benzos were affecting my cd!!!

 

 

We have another Dr out there who is starting to get it! He doesn't prescribe meds but he gets it!!!

 

So today I have gone from meltdown to  victory! Hoping this will help some of his other patients along with me. He is a teaching dr so this could be great!
