Has anyone ever experienced full body numbness as if the entire body is frozen. Its a new symptom that started over the past week. Shortness of breath has ceased and this has began.

This might be a medical issue that needs attention.

The end of breathing trouble at the time general numbness

starts could be significant if it's related to a clot.

Test have already been done ob my lungs and heart and clots have been ruled out. Been to the doc last sunday she believes it all anxiety and so does the other docs i have seen within the past two months.

But for it usually last about 20mins or a little more with ech wave (i hv several each day) and its really uncomfortable.

Shortness of breathe has ceased meaning an entire month with the waves i had shortness of breath. This has ended. I no longer have that symptom but now i have noticed my body starts to feel a weird numbness only during the waves. My symptoms morph very quickly. And i had this numbness/frozen body feeling where at times i could not walk i jus had to lie down whilst i was having bad reactions to lorazepam. Even then i was assured it was just anxiety.

My head and neck have been extremely numb since wk 3 or so of CT and it has never eased. I used to hv my lower extremities being numb during the waves but now like i said its my whole body. But it does not last for more than 20mins or so with each wave.

Numbness is something i have been experiencing in various ways and intensities for the past 5mths (on lorazepmn and now CT) so i jus wanna knw if anyone else is experiencing the numb/frozen body. I also hv severe dr/dp im jus wondering if this is also a symtom related to that. I dont knw!!!

So i guess it has returned but not as intense just uncomfortable and frightening. I can walk with it but im very conscious of it so when it starts i jus go and lay down until it ends.

Hi Jus jus,

I think it's dp/dr. I have it too. Read my other post I just post. I was having this wave today real bad and making me so discouraged. yes, it is extremely uncomfortable when we have to walk. When this happen I like to sit (at work) unless I have to then I get up. It feels really weird but no body notices anything but I am totally aware of it. Which I am working on not to pay too much attention to my irrational thoughts and symptoms that only fuel them more. Extremely hard not to do though.

I have numbness, stiffness, and cold in my lower arms,

hands, and feet, starting within a year of rapid taper.

It does not fluctuate much.

Infrared pics show low temps, and likely poor blood flow.

Breathing is not an apparent issue, but weakness from

3 years of benzo illness has reduced my endurance.

TracyNGLE your answer confirms my thoughts. I do believe its dr/dp causing this. The past few days with the numb feeling was pretty bad and so was the dr/dp. I jus felt so weird and out of it.

Today its not as severe and the numb feeling is barely noticeable. Though when i felt it coming on lil earlier i went and lie down. I fell asleep for like an hour and feeling is gone.

So i wud say its dr/dp related.

Thanks for the info. I will check your post now.

Ur entire body as in from your toes to ur head? How do you even move or walk? Numbness is a benzo symptom but ive never heard of ur entire body being numb. Even your tongue? How do you swallow? Id go to the Dr. stat. It may be something else. Good luck-stay warm and hang tough!

Been to the doc last sunday. She says its jus anxiety related. I consider it numb. Thats the only way i knw hw to describe it (dont wanna say it feels like my body is seizing...but that describes it as well). I had soma seizures early CT...doc says its harmless).

But yes when i was on lorazepam (had adverse effects on me) i was bedridden with severe full body numbness at times and i cud not walk. At that time i was taken to ERs private hospitals and numerous test were run...all normal results. And the diagnosis was always the same...Anxiety.

When i CT it literally stopped and i was able to walk but a bit slowly at first because i was became riddled with body pains and my legs became so weak as if it couldnt support the rest of my body. But within recent times at least 4 times a day my body jus feels numb and i lie down until it subsides.

Other buddies hv told me they hv the same symptom and its dr/dp related which i also hv. Im not going to make myself any more anxious goin wasting money goin to more docs. They keep running the same test over and over...same result. I was in psych ward early CT and 4 psychiatrists told me is anxiety. This was in January.

I trust the opinion of the ppl on here who are much further along and have assured me they had the exact same symptom and its jus anxiety/dr/dp related...and yes at times like even as i type this my tongue feels heavy or numb (not sure which word to use)

I have just started having this over this last month. I feel freezing cold and then i cant hardly think or function. It is soooo horrible. I am in bed right now with it. I get a headache after. It is so frustrating to keep getting new horrific symptoms. I have bad dr/dp now too. Maybe its a internal fear response that I cant seem to control. I hope it doesnt stay long. So cold.

I literally couldn't think what I was doing and I just got totally frozen. What I notice is my nose gets cold. Then my fingers. I start to sit down. The head pressure and watery eyes hit. Then i can't even talk. I was so scared. Its happened quite a few times. My blood pressure is normal. It is so crazy. I hope we get through with this withdrawal symptom. I cant even ride in a car to go to a doctor because mivement and motion makes me too sick. Let me know if this gets better or you figure it out.
