Day 23 Klonopin withdrawl.

Hello.

I'm 23 days free of Klonopin. I could really use some support right now.

I used Klonopin for about 15 years. I took 1.5 to 1.75 a day.

Welcome to BenzoBuddies, Bub2371.

Congrats on being off the Klonopin, I'm sure it wasn't easy after so many years.  Recovery from having taken a benzodiazepine longterm can take a lot longer than one would think, and it can be reassuring to talk to others who are finding the same thing.

Here's a link to our Post Withdrawal Support to begin posting to the wider membership.

If you're not already familiar with it, I highly recommend that you take a look at The Ashton Manual, which is an authoritative source on what to expect during withdrawal and recovery, authored by Dr. C. Heather Ashton, who is an expert in the field. It provides a great deal of information that can be very reassuring during any stage of this process, including a list of common symptoms with helpful explanations on the reasons for their existence.

Hi, Bub - 23 days off! That is great!

Sometimes symptoms may ramp up more right about now, and sometimes week 3 and 4 can be worse.

The thing to remember is that it is anxiety and withdrawal and your central nervous system coming back online and learning how to work correctly again.

Try and keep distracted from the anxiety and physical symptoms as best you can. Remember to eat enough calories and drink enough water.

I've been through this a couple times (don't recommend THAT) and was actually unsuccessful on my last jump (I made it 6 weeks) so I am doing this ALL OVER AGAIN.

Read these stories - ask questions and post for support.

This is scary, but you've already done the hard part! So excited for you to be free of this poison! You can do it! Keep going!
