Well, I saw the doctor yesterday to follow up on the bloods I had done, and he said he has yet to come across a case of vitamin D deficiency as bad as mine. I have virtually NO vitamin D in my body at all, it's a deficiency more extreme than your usual British winter lack of sunlight ones.

It could be partly down to being bedridden and unable to get much daylight, and I also blame Benzos and Benzo withdrawal. Again we have no idea wtf I was taking either and even the doctor said it could have been anything. I've read that Benzos and Opiates can deplete vitamin levels so I suppose it's possible, on top of my immune system taking a bashing from a mix of withdrawal and what appears to have been a lingering cold that's blocked my sinuses up and inflamed my ears. I may start using a neti pot again lol, used one before for hayfever and thought I'd hate it but it wasn't as bad as I expected lol. I'm sure a viral onslaught as well as withdrawal, possible damage from unknown chemicals and vitamin D deficiency are all behind why I feel so weak and drained all the time at the moment.

I am also in a lot of pain as of this month. My heart sank when this started as I have a low pain threshold and the burning pain, joint pain, back pain etc is unbearable. I also cannot tell anyone as I am an Opiate addict and if I complain about pain, I risk losing the Subutex script I am on for that. I'm always in tears from it too, not so much out of sadness or depression, but out of sheer pain, it puts tears in my eyes like peeling onions.

I'm on 40000 units of vitamin D once a week for 7 weeks. I started today because I had to go grocery shopping this morning and I'm not sure if it's going to cause a big uptick in my sxs, but I am in a wave already so I am just taking the plunge.

I did ask the doctor if the vitamin D deficiency could be causing some of my symptoms and yeah, it's possible, specially lethargy and it could be contributing to my body 'buzzing' too. My main unmanageable symptom is severe inner vibrating/tremoring. This is seconded by fatigue, which is about comparable in severity. This 'vibrating' is totally off the scale and way above what others seem to experience. It never, ever goes away, it's 24/7, even when I have windows it stays the same, it's physical, it's certainly neurological. I feel like my blood is boiling all the time. I may not have Insomnia but this is now waking me up several times a night. It's like all my nerves are misfiring. This symptom feels like it causes others it's so bad. I'd give up everything I own right down to my last sock to just have a day without this now. I'm done, I've had enough. The vitamin D deficiency could be contributing to this, we're not sure. Once I've done with the supplements, I have to go back for some more bloods to check if my levels have normalized. If so, I will be asking to be referred to a neurologist, mainly because of my family history and the fact we do not know what I was taking for three years.  The only thing capable of coming close to this one was head pressure, which was awful in acute, but left around Christmas last year and never came back.

I am coming up to the 6 month mark now, and my physical sxs are worse than acute. My brain is very much on the way to being fully healed, but my body is very badly damaged. I have windows yes but I class them more as 'good days' or a good 'few hours' and I have to endure huge upticks in sxs before a rare spell when some lessen a bit. I have felt like acute for the past month and have, for all intents and purposes, been bedridden. I am wasting away, maybe this vitamin D issue is yet another symptom of whatever is wrong with me rather than a cause. I don't know.

My folic acid levels are also low, so I am on folic acid supplements for a month too.

I will keep everyone here updated on if I notice any improvements now I've started on the vitamin D supplements. I'm expecting it to make me worse, in that case I'll have to go back to the doctor, but I am hoping to be wrong. Things effect us all differently and just because someone has an uptick in sxs from something doesn't mean we all will.

Ohhhh dappleapple  :smitten: I'm so sure it's the lack of  d-vitamin that has made you sooo bedridden along with the other symptoms. Some years ago I was sooo sick and bedridden and I couldn't do anything, exstreme lethargy and stomach pain and my doc  was in chock when she saw my blood tests, I had as you d-vitamin levels as a cold stone, and went on a 7 days cure with one pill a week, it didn't take me long before I felt the energy emerging my body. I'm so hopeful for you now, I'm sure this will help you through, you really really deserves a breakthrough now. I'll keep an eye out for you.

All my thoughts and love ❤️

Ive had the lack of energy for a few years now. My pain went away around two years off. My d levels were also low.. Ive been taking d for a year now. I think stress has a domino's effect on the body

Parker posted last week, She felt her symptoms just go one by one in minutes after taking Vid D...about 30,000 I think it was...the amount a previous doc had given her once .

Although I've not noticed much drastic improvement, yet, there's certainly something going on. I have felt like I've been back in acute for about two weeks now. I had one small window for two days then it was back to hell for me. I can't tell what it is yet, but something is happening, and it's not bad for once. It feels like my energy levels may be going up a bit, but I'm going to see if any improvements I do notice, actually stick around for more than a few days before I put them down to vitamin D.

I've noticed many of you are about the same time off as me and were in a similar place when I first joined the site, and even though it may not feel like it, you're ALL doing very well.

Thanks everyone, onwards and upwards for all of us hopefully!  :smitten:
