My hair continues to fall out. Is this really going to continue throughout my entire withdrawal? I wish it could slow down or something.

Is there anything I can do to stop it?

Does anyone know what causes this??

It's w/d it will return again, I used to have thick hair and during my two year of tolerance I couldn't understand why I was loosing so much hair, and also after my jump, my hair is so thin now. :tickedoff: But I've read other threads about this, and all says it will go back to normal  :tickedoff:

When did your hair start growing back?

So I report a lot of negative news, but I'll give you something positive.

Last year around the start of summer my wife was standing over me (I was seated) looking down on the top of my head when she said, "Wow, you're hair's gotten a *lot* thinner".  This appeared to have happened quit suddenly over a few months, so it would have started about this time last year.

Basically, my hair thinned over my entire head, but I actually had fairly thick hair so the only place it was obvious was on the very crown of my head.  Right in the top.

Just in the last month, my wife has told me that my hair in the top "is coming back" and today I got a couple of mirrors out and looked and it appears to be so. I almost hesitate to say anything for fear of jinxing myself, but I want to give you some encouragement.

I lost all of my hair due to benzos  :(

;) Just kidding, it was gone a long time ago.

Ive read on many articles that hair loss during taper and withdrawal is very common, and that after recovery it all comes back in full force.

Before you know it, you'll have all your lucious locks back! (unlike me hehe)

Any extreme stress or shock to the body (a fever for example) can set excessive shedding into motion.  I've lost tons of hair and still do.  It is visibly thinner.  I also have a lot of hair that is growing in, it sticks out from the rest, poking up on my head.  It will eventually slow down and probably is continuing to grow even as it's shedding.  It is an unfortunate reality, but my hope is that I don't get bald spots and i just goes back to "normal".

Thank you so much guys! You give me so much hope. I really hope my hair starts growing back...it's the weirdest thing!

My hair is falling out in clumps too. It clogs my shower drain! I had thin lifeless hair as it was! I'm getting married in 62 days (yikes ) and I'm really bummed this side effect is so prevalent for me.

I started taking prenatal vitamins again and that has helped me in the past with post surgery hair loss. I'm really hoping that it helps now. It's really frustrating.

Makes me cry every time I wash it.

I lost alot of hair in the front of my scalp when i hit tolerance.  It continued through the weaning and for another year of withdrawal. . Now my hair is thick and 95% back to normal.. My hair line isnt the way it was before the stress of withdrawal but like i said , it's 95% back to normal

Here's an old tread about hair growing back :D

Thanks for posting this! I have been cutting my own hair (I grew it out really long on top and shave it on the sides) and rocking a huge comb over. I use dry styling powder to keep it in place and to make it look thicker.

Now when I see an old man rocking a huge comb over, I say to myself "Wow, that's a great comb over!"

Ha!! What have I become!!? (I can't believe prescription meds have made me appreciate comb overs.

I saw a very old woman (she was in her 90's) at the air port with a super wild comb over and said to myself, "wow, what beautiful hair!!"  :D :D :D :D

Mine was coming out in clumps in withdrawal. Now that I'm down to .25, it's getting thicker & not falling out as much. I think it's a response to the extreme stress & anxiety.
