2 year update

I'm a little past 2 years actually and wanted to post a quick update.  Things are mostly good.  Other than the extreme daytime sleepiness I'd say I'm 80% better.  The sleepiness comes and goes.  Monday it was not here.  Last couple of days, tired as hell.  I don't know what the deal is.  It's weird because I had severe insomnia during the taper and now that I'm off, it's like my body wants to sleep all of the time.  Anyone have any remedies?

HOWEVER, this past year I was able to participate in almost every life event (and feel mostly normal doing so).  Everything is slowly returning to normal.  I'll be going on a cruise soon and we've talked about other trips for the future as well.  Exercise has picked up slowly.  The main issues I have are sleepiness and cogfog (which may just be a result of the sleepiness).  I can eat most things except stuff with MSG, but nobody should be eating anything with that crap in it anyway.  For those still having trouble tapering, I feel ya.  Trust me.  I was one of the worst.  But it actually IS possible.  The brain does go back to normal.  It is the natural thing for it to do.  I'm way better now that I'm off and have an interest in things again (rather than look up benzo withdrawal 400 times a day).  My old hobbies have picked back up and plans are being made.  I have bad days, bad sets of days, but not horribly horrible like during my taper.  And then I have really good days (which didn't exist during the taper).  I expect the window/wave thing to go on for awhile longer, but I can see it is getting better.

I wish you all the very best.

Hi Goonie.

Well done on being 2 years out - UNREAL!!!!!

Your post has given me so much hope to hang tight and keep striving towards more healing.

I can't wait to see what I write at 2 years out.

Thanks for coming back on and lighting up our journey with lanterns of inspiration.
