Has anyone else been abandoned by friends and family in this process?  I have had people say they "care so much" but then quit contacting me.  I am trying to understand this.

How incredibly, terribly sad.  At least we have a place to go where we aren't alone and can find folks who truly understand.  How does one little pill do this much damage in so many ways?  Who would've thought it?

I hate to say it, but I believe donnieogik is correct - most of us do get abandoned in this.  I learned to not talk about it so much, eventually.  Unfortunately, people really don't want to hear about it, and just want to hear we are "fine".

That's why we are so very lucky that benzo buddies exists - I think we are the only ones who "get it"

Has been my experience as well. Everyone is a asshole about it and not willing to learn what is happening to us. Makes this experience frustrating since there isn't another physical person to talk to about all of this who understands. It is nice having bb but having a real person there understanding this would be mother flipping amazing.

I watch the videos of people who are going through this on YouTube that actually helps me a lot because I feel more of a connection when I can see and hear a voice . Tons of good videos on YouTube, sometimes I think about making a video but I don't feel like I have anything to say .

My family refers to what's going on with me as my " anxiety" . It drives me insane

Yep. They do not understand and get opinionated. Loved ones guide to benzo recovery helped some understand a little. Google it. Joel Osteen helps me a lot since I don't have a slew of friends to encourage me. Thankful for my husband but even he did t really understand for a while and that's okay. He's very helpful and supportive. I have a lot of hobbies to keep me occupied and not feeling sorry for myself. I hope you know you can reach out to us here! HappyHealing.

I have come to HATE that word! Don't like to see it in print or hear it!

Thank you for your comment.

Wishing you a speedy recovery,

Remy and Sunny, thank you for your comments as well.

It seems like everyone here has it "together."  At least I can be happy for others' progress.  From what I can tell, I haven't made any just yet aside from my decision to get off the poison!

God bless!

I lost a good friend too, but you know how I think now? Friend who only there for you when is a happy time and can't be there for you when time get bad or hard is NOT Even worthy for your friendship!

Family is different, my family don't understand either but they still try to support me. Is is a very lonely road what we have to walk trough almost alone. BB helps me a lot. Feel blessed to have a support here who understand me.

Ah yes, those fair-weather friends!  Never chose to be one of those myself, so don't understand those who are.

Thank you for your comment, Vica.  I am truly grateful for BB.

Blessings and a speedy recovery! :pokey::hug:
