Does anyone get more anxiety when taking Clonazapam

I have been titrating and went to low to fast.  Was comfortable at .125mgs for a few days.  Decided to go to .0625 for a couple day and started getting anxiety, headaches and dizziness so I took .125 ( which is a quarter of a .5 mg pill) and my anxiety got worse.  Just curious if this happens to others and is it do to blown gaba receptors

Just a heads up - for me, Klonopin takes longer for symptoms to show up. In fact, after each cut, I'd be fine a week, then symptoms would show up days 7-10 and last about 3 days. Then I'd stabilize and cut again. This went great as I sent from 2mg down to .25 mg. No real issues and I did that in 3 months.

THEN, I got greedy and went staying at .25 for only 7 days, then down to .16 to 3 days, then jumped...straight into HELL. It was horrific. And 6 weeks later, after suffering terribly, I reinstated. I'm now going WAY slower. BUT - I've been on it for years, so that could explain what happened to me. Again, 2mg to .25 in 3 months - no real issues. A basic cold turkey off .25 and BAM - disaster.

Take the last little bit WAY slower, TRUST ME.

I agree.....i got greedy and jumped at a measily .5 valium and went into HELL 2 weeks later, now Im tapering much smarter and jumping at .25 or even less. Slow and easy wins this race.

As everyone is saying you need to give klonopin some time 7 days to 10 days to see what will happen, when I make a cut I get a reaction at around 5 days then again at around 10 days so I never do anything until at least 14 days or I might be compounding one withdrawal on top of the next. Same probably applies to up dosing. I too got greedy early on in my taper and after about 5 cuts got hit hard when cutting at .05mg every 2 weeks so slowed my cut rate down twice and am now cutting at about .01mg or less every 14 days and will jump at .01mg of klonopin or .2 mg of valium.

let me ask you.  why do I feel anxiety at .25mgs?  I had felt pretty comfortable even .25 mg.  but I have that anxiety feeling in my stomach that you get.  It seems like I get more anxiety when I take the clonazapam

I can tell you why (because I'm getting it totally even though I reinstated) - I think it's because the lower you go, the more HYPER AWARE of it you are. Because your brain is "coming back online" so to speak, so everything that had been numbed physically and emotionally now comes back in full force. I am pretty sure that's why I crashed and burned 4-6 weeks after I jumped. I was convinced, CONVINCED, I was dying (and went to the ER FOUR times in January...) it was ridiculous. It was all withdrawal. And even knowing that it was, I STILL couldn't take it. Just stabilize and go slow.

I agree 10000%..when you get really low, your cns is so raw and hypersenstive.

that sucks.  I was hoping to be suffer free  lol  10 years ago I was taking 8 mg of Ativan a day for 4 months.  I quit cold turkey and was in pure hell for 3 weeks straight.  the worst panic attack ever that was none stop for at least 2 weeks.  I am surprised I didn't have a seizure.  After the main withdraws went away for about 6 months I would have panic attack where I thought I was dying and always ended up in the ER.  All it was, was post withdraws

I know what it is like to be close to a jump. But my advise is go super slow and make sure you are as stable as possible when you jump. Go all the way to zero if you can. Tapering is 100% easier than jumping.

yesterday I up doses to .25mgs and got anxiety. The days before that I was only doing .0625.  This morning when I woke up I felt great.  That meant that almost half was out of my system and I had maybe .125mg in my system.  So I took .125mg this morning and got anxiety again.  That would put my blood level back at .25mg which seems to be causing anxiety.  so the magic number where I feel stabilized is with .125 mgs in my system.  So tomorrow I am going to weight longer to dose and take .0625mg.  That should put my blood level closer to  .125

Anybody here dealing with breathing issues?

I now have asthma as of 1 week ago.

During a spell I took a rescue dose and was 80% improved so Im thinking its part of the withdrawals and GABA receptors in my lungs.

Thoughts?

I was diagnosed with "late onset asthma", not sure if it was pre or after I started my taper but I now need to use an inhaler daily and am convinced it is just another little benzo present.

I am due to finish my taper in a few weeks and do hope that it goes away not to mention that I have high deductible insurance and the inhaler costs close to $300 per month
