Xanax Rebound

Prescribed 3 .25 Xanax a day in march 2015.  Basically took it as needed for the first year, would take 1-1.5mg on weekends just to calm down from a stressful week and catch up on sleep.  I have a very high pressure job and figured the increasing anxiety was correlated to that.  About 6 months ago my blood pressure was quite high and I had tinnitus.  Socializing and general cognitive function also were well below normal.  After a little online searches' I realized I was having rebounds from the Xanax.  I take .625 4 times a day now and feel fine.  About to start a taper but hopefully I caught it before my dosage got too high.

I am glad you found us today. The recommended reduction rate is 5 to 10 percent every two weeks. A gradual taper really is the best way to try to minimize symptoms.
