Dissolve 1/2 of a tablet.  Take the other half in the next dose.

2.5mg/3 doses is .833mg per dose.  Pretty obvious you either 1) have to do all liquid, or 2) you have to do uneven doses.

There really is no real need to keep your doses even.

i thought my doses had to be even to  keep blood levels even. i want to get rid of this .5 mg that i take at night before i go to bed which i wish i never would have taken when i was downdosed for a week and took in a panic. i take 1 mg, then 1 mg the .5 so they arent even now and was told once my doses were even it would help.

I've been told by several people who have helped many others taper off benzos that keeping doses even is very important and the fact that I didn't keep mine even is the reason along with 10% being too fast for me for why I am absolutely rocked by symptoms and bed ridden even though I did a MT. Why do you think keeping levels uneven is unimportant?

The half-life off K is 30-40 hours.  That means it metabolizes at 1-2% per hour.  If you dose 3 times a day, even if the doses are not uniform, there will not be enough change in blood levels to make any difference.

Right but your experience doesn't mean that that will be okay for everybody since we all have wildly different histories and make ups and I believe that many people need to go slower than the 10% outlined in the Ashton Manual and would benefit from an even dispersion to keep the blood levels steady. I cut at 10% and did not keep my doses steady and I got absolutely rocked by my MT all at once and haven't been able to stabilize at all since then. If I had started more slowly and keep my doses even I believe I could be having a much more bearable taper right now.

Since I was doing a dry/liquid taper liquefying .5 mg's at a time and taking the rest dry starting at 2.5 since people on this forum said that would be fine when my liquid dose got low I was taking .5 less than my other doses. .5 mg's of Klonopin is not a "small discrepancy in dose amounts". And now I can't stabilize and I am essentially bedridden when if I had started all liquid and cut evenly and more slowly I would be struggling but at least somewhat functional. Things I wish people had told me when I asked about starting my taper a year ago.

the first thing i was ever told while learning about this process was the most important thing is to keep you doses even. especially with the potency of klonopin.... if i took .5 mg in the morning and 2 at night id be a wreck. but everyones experience is different.

actually I didn't learn it from Bb I learned it from three different nurses that are tapering on fbook and a lady from new Zealand who used to be affiliated with benzo UK. Org. Told that the blood level flucations cause the problems, and while they are going to happen anyway because of eating to keep them even through out  the day and as close to 8 hours apart.
