Hi

I am interested in knowing what are people's first symptom that appears after a cut?

I just came off pregabalin after a long taper and am tapering valium now again, I am anxious, but I don't know if it's the valium taper, as I titrate daily, or whether its the remnants of symptoms from the pregabalin taper, so

What is the first symptom to appear for you after a cut?

All answers welcome.

Mine have varied throughout my taper, but I think first is anxiety. Right along with that is stomach problems, heart palpitations and just restlessness in general. I'm so happy to be near the end of my taper.

Good Luck

My Sx vary immensely, cut or no cut. But they always are the same 3 overall, depending on the day: massive akathisia/mania, or dizziness, or seriuous breathlessness/pain chest. Usually there is 1 dominating the others. And some days, juste one. They keep jumping around. Crazy. At least some of them dissapeared in the last month or so, even when cutting: nausea, panic attacks and exhaustion/fatigue. But, breathlessness has taken the lead in recent weeks... Nothing is logical in this thing. My breathlessness is so massive some days I simply cannot venture to go outside for a 5 minutes walk...I am at 1.375 mg Ativan from 2 mg?

Insomnia 5 out of 7 days a week (3 or less hours of sleep), mood swings, headaches, lock-jaw (for me anyways) and increased bodily sensations (like I can feel the blood moving in my extremities...)almost all of the time, varying degree of difficulty. But manageable really.

Wake up feeling toxic, turns into chills and anxiety, heart pounding in my head are the most prevalent. Dozens of others over the course of this taper though.

Mine were complete insomnia within 48 hours after the cut, in addition to derealization, vision loss, irritability, and a complete lack of awareness for time.

Anxiety, depression and agoraphobia...a lovely mix but they tend to get better for me after a couple days and then comeback again...sometimes all in the same day they will be there and then gone...I try to keep moving.  I find the more exercise I can do, the better.  my dog gets a lot of walks around the block

That sounds terrible. Hope things get better for you soon.

Anxiety, insomnia, and GI distress of the fast moving variety.

Never know when it is going to hit.

That also sounds terrible. The unpredictability must be awful.

You sound strong to be able to manage all those symptoms, but I hope they go for you.

I started replying individually but I thought i would send a collective reply to thank you all for letting me know what you are experiencing.

I feel for all of you. With me, its anxiety and depression.

I'm mainly suffering anxiety and depression but I think that is just because I have just completed that 14 month taper off pregabalin.

this waking up feeling toxic is absolutely the worst. I have no idea why the adrenal surges are so frequent during taper and after. I wish we could put our heads together and figure out a cure!

I find that when I have a nap I wake up with a few new worries every time I nap, I cannot tell if the drugs are just magnifying the worries, or the worries are real, as some of them have turned out to be real.

I found an increase in "doom" as i woke from a day nap, when on higher doses... -rather disturbing...

Maybe this thread will rate for a "sticky" one day!!!

Thanks Cantfly, I will take the sticky as a compliment.

Sorry you wake with feelings of doom, they are horrible aren't they?

Worries are magnified and you or I cannot tell if we are being irrational or not, because our worrries make sense to us. When other people tell me its just my anxiety, it brasses me off, because my psych nurse said this, but the problem turned out to be real.
