Terrible waves from period, pre existing issue returning

I was starting to notice a pattern towards the end of last month. My sxs would be severe in the morning, then begin to lessen around lunchtime, with the afternoons being as good as good can be for someone in my condition. Then I got this month's period, and felt like I was back in acute. The pain was so bad I felt delirious, like I was being stabbed in the abdomen with blistering hot tridents and I was so weak I couldn't even sit up (it was this bad before I ever monkeyed my body up with drugs too). Every period cycle is a massive setback and it feels as if it's preventing my body from healing now. I don't enjoy the rare moments when things aren't so bad anymore because I know what's coming each month.

I'm only 30, and I'm horrified to think I may have another 20-30 years of this!.

I have the same issue. I have been noticing that my symptoms are magnified starting a few days before and through my period. I have to believe this will improve as healing progresses. I have to believe that.

I'm just going to try to be extra easy with myself during this time. it's all I can do.

I had that happen before, but it happened 4 months in a row and then it stopped happening. Now it is ramping up some but I am at the end of perimenopause or hopefully at the end. I think your hormones will balance and you will get relief, at least you will be healed by menopause age and not have to face it again.

I totally get the period-hormonal thing - I have been off k-pin for 6 months now (yay!) and have noticed that in the past few months I have weeks of being totally 100% (where I don't even think about withdrawal or any of this) and then right around my period (pms time) and during my period I get a LOT more anxious - I think it is likely that my body is on its healing journey, and that this hormonal imbalance causes the flare-ups and ticks that make it feel like I'm not moving forward.

I remind myself that there is a specific cause (hormones + withdraw) and give myself lots of TLC during this time. Also, the fact that I am experiencing symptoms more during a specific phase in my body's cycle and not during other times is a sign I am healing!

I hope that these words bring a bit of comfort - It's not an easy journey, and we need all the reminders that we're walking gracefully on a very rough path as we can get!

Warm regards.

Thanks everyone  :smitten:

I think the difficult part about this one is I have spent so long trying to fathom out what makes my sxs worse in terms of food and drink and body changes etc, and unlike let's say spicy food, which makes my neuro sxs rage, I can't prevent this one.  I've also discovered I can't use steroid Eczema creams or even nail polish because they made me really sick, so I just avoid them.

This month's experience was horrendous, even all the pre Benzo months I've spent writhing in agony on the floor don't compare. It makes me shudder and feel sick just thinking about it

Once I feel I've fully healed from the Benzo mess (no sxs at all for around a year) I'm probably going to have to give in and get a lap done to see if my suspicions about Endometriosis are true. That would explain the horrendous pain I am getting each month and the 'period pain' in other parts of my body such a around my diaphragm when I breathe in and around my stomach in various places.

2-3 weeks ago, I had 2 or 3 half days where I felt back to acute. exactly as bad. hell.

they ended - and what followed was a HUGE improvement. now the last 2-3 weeks are really good! other then cold/flu killing me, I am wondering to think if I am done with the worst of this
