I could really use some reassurance...

Hello,

I don't think I've posted in this section before, so here goes nothin.

I've been totally off Ativan since last fall. I honestly don't remember if it was Sept 19 or oct 19.

Anyway, here is what I'm going through now: extreme anxiety from morning until evening, feeling like I want to jump out of my body to get away from the intense sensations, agitation, sweating and freezing at the same time, myoclonus (body jerking when trying to relax, so can't ever relax), moderate agoraphobia, fear of going crazy, excessive worrying, and so on (I think that's enough!)....

And this is better than I was at first.

what has changed for the better? Not much.  I guess I would say I don't feel like my muscles are full of acid anymore.  I think I'm sleeping better. while taking Ativan It seemed like I was dreaming all night long and even after sleeping for ten hours, I felt more tired when I'd wake up than when I went to bed the night before.

(Im now thinking the myoclonus could be from the Zoloft; I posted a question about that in the Otheer medications section.)

Please someone tell me that this is a normal time period to still feel so bad and that things could shift sooner than I realize. even if you're lying to me, I don't care. I just need reassurance with this.

I know I'm in more of a taking place right now; I don't have much to give others.  Feel bad about that, but it's reality right now.  When I get stronger I will give what I can to those who come after me in this.

If you are through the worst of it, I'd love to hear about it and any resonance with what I'm still feeling and experiencing at this point.

thanks in advance; I'm incredibly grateful to be ale to post with honesty here cuz nobody seems to get how bad I feel. But I know you guys do.

Love, Ranomi

Ranomi,

I don't know how reassuring it is, but what you are going through is normal.  I've experienced all of what you described.  The good thing is that it does get better.

I am at 14 months, it does get better with time. I am finding some of the worst symptoms like anxiety and brain issues seem to be sticking around, but other things have gotten better. It is a just a matter of time. Hang tough. You will see some relief eventually.

I am about 3.5 years off of 8 mg/ day ativan (13 yrs).

Where I was a couple of years ago is no where near were I am today. Things keep getting better even today.

You on a plane ride. No way off until it lands.

Hang in there.
