Masha, there is another recent thread also on post-withdrawal recovery and support something like "dosing once healed?". Please read the fifth response - by something like Saveme74 - someone who re-dosed after withdrawal and it led to more dependence and a much worse taper and withdrawal. I have no idea how common this is but it's a warning to be heeded.

If you've done sleep hygiene and sleep restriction diligently (and they are hard to do when you're sleep deprived) as well as everything else (to address having un-learned sleep as a set of behaviors and states), id say try the trazodone and also maybe work with a therapist doing some acceptance to lower your sleep anxiety and stop yourself from catastophizing or blowing it up in your mind which makes it all worse. I do this and it helps not make any existing insomnia worse. My heart goes out to you.

I said before you take a benzo why don't you try to drink a glass or two of wine or a little beer. Don't drink a lot or it will mess you up the next day and make WD worse. I had a little wine and beer over the holidays and nothing different happened, I still felt shitty but I feel that way everyday. Nothing new happened. I would resort to anything before I would ever take another benzo again.

This is what I read/heard from somewhere. Try this to see if it helps. I hope I can express well.

Someone says if a person tries to sleep, and do everything to sleep, usually that person will not be able to achieve sleep because he is tense up. Why don't we say 'if I can't sleep, so be it...if I can sleep great, if not, so be it." But if your total insomnia is from the wd, it from the chemically from benzo...it might not work...but doesn't hurt to try...

At 6.5 months off, I was still not sleeping at all some nights and when I did it was only a couple of hours. It Was torture.

I don't think the answer will come in a pill. Most likely it will only cause more problems.

Like Davis said, I don't have another wd in me either or going backwards in my healing.

MY opinion is there is no magic fix to this except time.

Time does work and your system will balance out if you let it.

This is not easy at all, but you need to stay on track with no more pills.

I think you will be happy in the end.
