Hello,

I started staking clonazepam for general anxiety. I was only on them for approx 6 weeks.  I was breaking the .5mg  into .25mg  and figured that was okay not realizing the half life was so long and I was  taking them up to 4 times a week instead of twice a week. When I became very sick I had no idea I was in w/d so I had many many tests done. A few trips to the emergency room and testing for MS and other possible health issues.  None of these doctors ever considered w/d. This went on for a few months before I became very aware that when I took the clonazepam all my symptoms disappeared. I was shocked. I started my taper immediately and after 6 weeks I stopped altogether.  I thought that would be long enough as in my mind it was a very low dose that I had been taking. It has been a little over two months since I stopped completely. I have had most of the physical and emotional w/d symptoms. I have not been able to work and have been taking one day at a time. Benzo flu, jelly legs, anxiety, depression, brain zaps, tingling and numbness, body tremors, night sweats, insomnia, twitching etc...  Just recently I had a 10 day window which gave me hope. I walk daily . I have a hard time eating during my waves and I have lost 15 lbs. I make healthy shakes during my waves and I force them down. I having been reading success stories which helps get me through the really tough days. Most of my symptoms come and go however anxiety is the worst and the ringing in my ears in constant. I do not think anyone who has not gone through benzo w/d can understand what we are going through at this time. That is why I think this is an amazing forum.  I am normally a very positive person but this w/d has made me very negative at times about my recovery.

Thanks!
