Hi,

Ayye. I've abused drugs since the age of fourteen. Like a majority of abusers the drug of choice escalated over time. Never had anxiety and panic attacks until after a wild ride with MDMA. (Could have been because of other substances...who knows could have been genetics even but convinced its from ridiculous MDMA use.) Sucks going from a care free soul to worrying about the simplest or even made up worries. When the panic attacks began their torment the first turn was towards alcohol. At around 21 I discovered the false misleading magic of Xanax. Up until 22 it was an everyday thing. (was never dry) Got in trouble and was put on probation along with an outpatient rehabilitation center. Two months left on probation and BAM screwed that up. Did a lil time. Got out with every intention of staying off the zombie food. NOPE. Didn't even take a day to relapse. (Should have known having benzos laying around they'd eventually become irresistible. Anywho I've been sedated a lil less then a year now. Today I'm a week n a day clean. Had to cold turkey. (I know dangerous and stupid) Feels good being clean and actually remembering things again. But man the jitters and panic attacks, social anxiety and procrastination blow! Right now I'm micro dosing psilocybin in social situations. Actually helps too. Possibly serotonin syndrome because whenever I dose these awkward intense brain buzzes hit. It feels like your head fills with air and vibrates uncontrollably. Beats panic attacks haha. Well glad to be here and feels nice watching the fog clear. AGypsy~

Hi  :) Welcome to BenzoBuddies!

Congrats on being benzo free. A CT withdrawal is a rough way to go. I did three of them. Currently you are in the acute phase of withdrawal. This is when symptoms are their very worst. This phase typically lasts about a months with some noticeable improvement after.

You might like to check out The Ashton Manual it is an authoritative source on what to expect in withdrawal and recovery.  Dr. Ashton is an expert in the field.
