I need Valium experiences, please!!!!!!

I was curious to hear people's experiences with if they take even doses of thei valium or if they do a larger dose once a day?  I was wondering how you are doing and if you experience any symptoms in between your doses?

Also, for those that take even doses, how do you feel?  I am presently taking more at night but my anxiety has revved up during the day.  I have had a LOT of stressful events lately and am very sensitive to changes.  I wish I wasn't!  So, I'm hoping it is just the stress and not tolerance (crossed to valium in November) or because of uneven blood levels or something.  Thanks for your replies (in advance, so I don't forget!). I love the support that this site has for each other.  Better than other things I've been a part of.  Thanks!

I used to dose Xanax 6x per day, and I am able to dose Valium just once at bedtime with no interdose  withdrawl.  I am in withdrawl but it's pretty consistent not up and down...like I had with Xanax and Ativan.

Early in my taper, I dosed 3X per day and then eventually moved to 2 doses (11am/11pm).  My system seems to tear through the stuff and 1X per day wasn't frequent enough.

I have just gone from V 1xday to an even split... seems to stop the worst of my GI cramping...

But i also updosed, and started DLMT, so there are other factors... sorry...

Therapeutic effect (duration) for a particular condition, and blood levels eg. half life, are not the same thing...

(Though i hope you dont ask for a detailed explanation... lol)..

Edit...

Duration of action, was what i was looking for...

But this is about the extent of my knowledge...

Hi,

I think you made the right choice.

Valium has a much longer 'half-life' and is gentler on the CNS.

I transferred to valium 6 years ago and started tapering in 2014. I am now at 5 mg valium per day. I take 1 2 mg pill in the morning and 1 and a half around 6 p.m. I am regular and consistent in when I take them. Inter-dose withdrawal happens for the first 1-2 weeks after a cut (in my experience) and lessens after that. My last cut was 17 per cent. This is too much, in my opinion.

The 10 per cent rule is pretty good but Never be afraid to hold - it can be good self care.

best wishes,

CG

From 15mg, I took 2.5mg in the afternoon to replace my original Xanax dose, then 12.5mg at bedtime. I tapered the afternoon dose and then only dosed once a day from 12.5 down. I felt some mild uneasiness in the afternoon right affer I dropped the afteroon dose, but my body eventually adjusted.
