Lump in throat?

[Me...]

Recommended Posts

Has anyone experienced what feels like a lump in your throat during tapering? I also have terrible dry mouth and what feels almost like a flushing feeling sometimes. Like it starts at the top of my head and flushes down... does that make sense? On top of all the other lovely symptoms of hitting tolerance last year and never up dosing. It's been a year from HELL to say the least!

Yep, had the lump in throat, increased when anxious. Also hoarseness, dry mouth and lips, shivering and then sweats. Also a feeling like I got hot on the nose with a nerf bat, and hit ontop of the head with a pan... Sounds like withdrawal symptoms to me! Agree, it sucks. But so much of it goes away with time. You'll see.

Thank you  :smitten:

It's can be so difficult to stay positive during this! How do you feel now? I always wonder how my experience is compared to others, and if I'm just a big baby about it! Lol... the tinnitus though  :o pretty sure that's my worst symptom! I think it would be so much more bearable without that!

My flushing was warm and went up through the neck, jaw, ears to head...

throat issues (whole sinus), with nil pathology...

Only a few weeks for flushing, and not there later when my worst sx, headaches and cramps were happening... then a lottle burning skin in upper body/face, sweats and very mild tinnitus...

Constant extreme fatigue and old, revamped stomach cramps...

As some wise people recently said to me about new stuff... -probably sx related to w/d...

-but we have to ask, or we would go mad...!!

When we are hit with many sysmptoms all at once, it is hard not to be alarmed. Withdrawal and recovery takes shifting ones perspective to a new, but temporary normal.

I have different issues now, after 14 months off. Im going through peri-menopause, but have none of the 'niggling' symptoms described.  :o  Muscle and nerve pain now is probably related to withdrawal. At very least,  inactivity took a toll on the body; I was largely inactive compared to the horticultural work I did, pre-benzos. (So take note: do as much gentle exercise as you can.) I have body trembling anxiety, but I also had that before benzos. Every test I have taken over the last few years says I am healthy. Which doesn't mean I am by my own standards, but I likely don't have a new disease. It's clear my nervous system is way more sensitive, and I cant handle stressful situations without feeling the immediate effects. But time is helping me heal, as will you, the farther away you get from these drugs!

Yes, I had the lump in throats and no idea why. This was before I discovered this site. I even went to an ENT because it was so annoying. All fine. I also get a clicking sensation occasionally. 100% due to taper.
