Go back on them?

So recently I put up a post about me doing a rapid detox. I tapered down over approximately a month. Was on 8mg Xanax plus 3mg Klonipin daily. Was on lamictal but stopped without issue.  Someone said to go back on and taper the correct way?  I mean yeah, it's tough. Got really hard a few days ago but I'm still here. It's starting to really affect my mood. I deal with the public daily at work and need to have my brain working.  I've read multiple taper regiments and they all seem promising but very time consuming.  Being on day 17 today, what is the opinion of others?  Should I take the plunge back to the deep end and ease my struggles?  I mean hey, it's only 17 days right?  But what about those 17 days!  I mean really, how much longer can it last?  People who taper still have withdrawals right?  Is anyone actually going to walk the plank and tell me that if I taper the withdrawal portion is easy?  I am under the understanding that none of this will be easy, hence my signature. The only easy day was yesterday

I'm not sure i understand your sig. You could have an easy time and you couod struggle. What are your symptoms? How long have you been on benzos?

Yes. I should change my signature to this

Xanax. 2mg-4x per day. Was on for close to 10 years. Off since xmas 2016

Klonipin. 1mg-3x per day. Started 6 years ago. Clean mid Jan 2017

Lamictal and buspar prior to benzos. All,for anxiety. Docs say I have a "busy mind"

Took those for a couple years

8 years clean from alcohol but in reality I just transferred that addiction to benzos

My symptoms are variable. For a minute I am normal. I'm me. The old me. Then the waves crash and man water hurts!  Let's see. Hallucinations are mild but there.  Very scatter brained. Low back is excruciating. Chiro helps for a day. Brain fog. Thinking about things that aren't real. Having to question my own reality. No sweats yet. This took two weeks to hit me. I went 13 days without a single symptom. Then day 14 thought I was loosing it. 15 was worse. Yesterday a little better and now today I cannot form an opinion as to what kind of day I'm having. Thankful that I have an appetite and am sleeping ok, but that could be the thc. It helps me sleep. Taking benzodiazepines for so long I've forgotten how to fall asleep naturally.

Really curious if I detox too quick.  Is a slower taper better, or being on day 17 do I just push it?  Not sure if I wanna go back on em. My doc is super supportive. When I told him what I wanted to do his response was to let him know if he could help. I think he knows that deep down I'm over medicating but won't just cut them off for obvious reasons

its hard to say....you know your body best. if i look back on all the times i have quit cold turkey each time i quit the withdrawals would get worse each time i quit... the time before i quit this time i was still able to get to work(sometimes having to call a cab from being so out of it) and somehow make it through. i was not pleasant to be around at all. i worked customer service and did get complained on. oops. but luckily i was open with my boss and she totally understood, so she cut me some slack.  i was on heavy doses when i would quit. if i would of know what i was going through to its full extent i would of not gone back on them. i just thought i needed them forever. now i know i don't.  if you think you can make it through which it may not be easy. if you think you can be able to get to work and then get home and relax then stay off.  my opinion i would just try to make it through without. its hard to tell with these damn drugs.  no ones knows how one is going to react. these drugs are shitty shit shit. uhhg. good luck on your journey man. how many times have you quit these pills?

If i were you.. I would reinstate and come up with a realistic taper plan. Extend as far as you want as long as your goal is to stabalize inbetween doses. Cold turkey is the worst thing you could do. Benzos are a different animal.

Hard to say. Not sure I've "quit". Ever. I'm your a typical addict. Transformation of addiction from one to another.

Yes. They are shit. Shit shit shit as you say. Couldn't agree more.

I have stopped once before.  For about a month. And yes, it does seem worse this time.  I used thc both times at night to help sleep. I'm a big believer that sleep is the absolute best medicine out there. The body can heal itself. Challenge is this. When I work, I cannot take a cab. I have to be in my game as they say. I don't have a say in that. I'm in a position where if I opened up to my boss I would have all the time I need. Let's just leave that there....

This is just shy of a mental lockup. Physical symptoms are only a sore back. I am pretty much all mental. I am at the crossroads of dimentia.  Confused. Sometimes paranoid but able to talk myself down. I'm handling this ok. Until I'm not.

ya i feel ya about needing to be on your game.  maybe you should just do a slow taper. now I'm going back and forth. lol its just so hard to give advice on this one... i quit cold turkey and have not been able to work or anything for 3 years. so yeah maybe don't listen to my advice. lol am i getting better yes. but the struggle is real. whatever you do decide once you are off don't ever get on this shit again. i think you know that. lol  i do always wonder if i would of done a taper if it would have been the same or better.  who knows.  what ever you do just form a plan. find a good doctor (functional medicine doc, they help people off these drugs) who will support you. take it as easy as you can. stress makes things worse.  hope the best for ya man.  and put good foods in your body eh. lots of water

My c/t from Estazalom lasted 3 week before I reinstated. It was pure hell. I used the opportunity to switch to Diazapam and began a long taper which is almost over. Only you can decide whether to reinstate, but if you do try a lower dose so that your suffering hasn't been wasted.
