I'm currently struggling with a kolonopin taper, and a failed reinstatement- I am just hoping to read others exoperiences with this situation- I am very worried I will never be normal again

I am glad you found us today. The recommended reduction rate is 5 to 10 percent every two weeks. A slow gradual taper is the best way to try to minimize symptoms. At what rate are you trying to taper?

Hello VoonegutJunky,

 

Well welcome to the forum. First of all just know that many others were right where you are; wondering if they would ever beat this monster called benzos. Well guess what they did and you will too! Yeah this may be hard but you can do it. Like many others, once this is all over with you will feel newly empowered with a sense of accomplishment and perspective like never before, there will be a rainbow at the end of this storm, I guarantee it!

 

So first of all give us some additional information so we can help. How many times a day do you dose? How long have you been taking benzos? Any other drugs or alcohol use? What taper did you try and how did it fail?

 

There are so many "experts" here, mostly by necessity and trial and error who can help you get through this. You found the right place. True this may not be a walk in the park but this does not have to be a complete hell on Earth. Once you find a good taper and plan and start doing all of the right things you can do this!

 

Good luck, keep the faith, stay positive, this will pass and just know that you are not alone.
