How to begin a Benzo taper?

Hi Guys,

 

I'm going to start a benzo taper shortly with Valium, I have been interdosing with random doses with Xanax & Valium for 3 years on and off normally 10mg a day or 2mg xanax a day for a chronic anxiety disorder and dizziness.

 

Lately my anxiety is unbearable I can't even move  and take up to 80mg for the last week to survive, it's strange as I never needed thai amount 10mg every other day used to be enough, I've had some really stressful stuff occurring so it may be messing with my head causing my anxiety to flare.

 

I've been prescribed Viepax but not sure weather to take them.

 

Before I can taper I need to find a dose instead of taking random amounts, what are your guys thoughts?

I agree. Random does don't work well. You will want to find the lowest daily dose you feel stable on and then begin your taper from there. The recommended reduction rate is 5 to 10 percent every two weeks.
