My Story

Recommended Posts

I have been lurking on Benzobuddies for years, but I have some questions about personal experiences / tapering following a brief reinstatement. In my 4+ years of benzodiazepine /  thienodiazepine use, I have used Alprazolam, Etizolam, Flubromazepam, Clonazepam, Diazepam and Lorazepam. My highest doses were in the 7-8mg Alprazolam - 10-14mg Etizolam range.

I tapered over one year period down to .5mg of Diazepam before jumping off. I was benzo free for about 3 months until my symptoms became so unmanageable, I reinstated for the past two weeks.

Welcome to BenzoBuddies, Barstool.

Sorry to hear you've found yourself back on benzodiazepines.  These are difficult drugs to recover from and it is easy to understand why people go back on them for relief.

Here are some links to pertinent boards to begin posting for support:

When you have a chance, I highly recommend that you take a look at The Ashton Manual, which is an authoritative source on what to expect during withdrawal and recovery, authored by Dr. C. Heather Ashton, who is an expert in the field. It provides a great deal of information that can be very reassuring during any stage of this process, including a list of common symptoms with helpful explanations on the reasons for their existence.
