It really helps, tinnitus is horrible and always makes you feel on edge, I basically have it 24/7 with varying intensities thoughout the day from very low to quite high.

 

I just play music or listen to podcasts all day.

you can do a free calibration of what tones you hear at certain levels. Then on the noise generators page you can pick 'calibrated' tones and generate a personal tone to your calibration. Then for around $3.00USD you can download a mp3 file of your calibrated tone. Or you can save it on the website for free. Enjoy
