Playing my guitar!

Not fully healed yet but being able to play my guitar is huge for me. My fingers, ears and memory are healed enough so that I can play for 30-40 minutes.  8)

That is awesome - yea, you!!  It's the small, but concrete things like this sometimes that help us really measure our progress.  Playing the instrument is really huge, because it involves so many processes, beginning with just the desire to pick up the instrument and be creative - good stuff.

A few months after I tapered off antidepressants, I was able for the first time in years to watch tv!  Just to sit down and follow the plot and not be overwhelmed with sensory overload.... isn't that crazy?  I'm getting better and better with the SSRI WD, and now that I'm on my way with the clonazepam WD, I'm hopeful that I'll be able to pick up my guitar again one of these days too!  Thanks for sharing, and I hope you have a beautiful weekend.

So happy for you Rose80.

My children are very talented at playing the guitar and it's a pleasure to listen to them play and sing.  I can just feel your enjoyment and happiness.

I've often thought I should learn the guitar as well. You may have just pushed me to go and get some lessons.

Thankyou

Tallow Love

Tallow go and get some easy play guitar books and learn G, D, C, F, A and you can play some. Start slow it takes a while for your fingers to toughen up. Be Blessed

There's a guy on YouTube, too... Justin Guitar, I think.  Good, easy to follow videos for beginning guitar.  When I no longer have mush for brains, I'm going to pick it back  up.

I play guitar, taught myself through hours of strumming along to Nirvana and Robert Johnson songs  :smitten:

I've struggled a bit with it in WD because of a muscle issue in my right hand which would randomly make my thumb and pointer finger lock up, but I found the more I forced myself to pick it up, even if it was just for two minutes and pluck three chords, it was certainly worth it. Since I started doing this I've noticed this issue has pretty much gone now.
