More Water Titration Help Please

                  Hi,

A couple of weeks ago, I was in the planning stages of doing a Xanax taper and got very good advice from Builder for making it soluble.

I'm currently stable at 1.5 mg daily...................I take a 1/4 late morning and the other 1/4 early evening and then 1 mg at bedtime.

Before this regimen, I was all over the map with my dosages........Some days taking 1 1/4 mg at bedtime or 1 1/2.

What i didn't realize was, I was getting all kinds of inter dose w/d symptoms during the day until I dosed at bedtime.... stomach cramping, irritability, racing thoughts etc.

I decided to do a water taper and am going to use vodka to make the benzo water soluble.

What kind of dosing should I do and in what total ml of water would be adequate enough for 1.5 mg xanax and the 2 ml of vodka to make either 2 or 3 doses?

ps I have 250 ml graduated cylinder for measurement and 10 and 60 ml syringes.

                                                                                                                                                                            Thanks

There is really no problem with your current dosing.  Or you could do .5, .5, .5.  And you could make your cuts from any dose, or, since you're going to do liquid, you could even them out, if you prefer.

.1mg per ml  is really enough dilution to do your taper.  You can easily measure/meter out hundredths (.01) mg with a 1ml syringe.

                  Thanks Builder,

Just one more thing.........If I drop the 1 1/2 tabs and liquify  them, add 250 ml of H20, pull the starting amount of 1 ml and then just divide the doses into 3 equal amounts to drink?

I don't know where the 250ml comes from, but yes, you can draw the whole day's dose, then divide it up.

Didn't I suggest 2mg in 200ml?

No, I'm only on 1.5 a day, but you did suggest only 1ml pulled from  the 1mg tab.

I could do the .5 dry and the 1 mg liquid starting with a daily 1ml pull and so on in 200ml  of H2O ?

All I know is that I want to be as little symptomatic as possible coming off this crap.

Would believe my prescriber was suggesting 25% cuts every 2 weeks?...............Insane!

                                                                                                                                                                        Thanks again

Yes, the answer to the original question is once you have pulled up your dose for the day, you can then divide that into smaller dose to meet your daily dose schedule.
