Does it ever get better? Back to normal?

I'm having such a rough time the past few days. I want to taper off my Xanax so badly, but everytime I try to start the withdrawal kicks my butt. I'm only at .25 and my doctor wants me to taper faster than I know my body can handle. I think I'm just super sensitive to these meds. I've felt like hell ever since starting them.  I've been so depressed the past few days, tight chest, difficulty breathing deeply, and my tinnitus is screaming! I find it's worse when I'm trying to sleep and I find myself wishing I never got to this point. Why did I ever take this prescription in the first place? I wish I had done more research! I just want to feel good and normal again! Does it ever get better? Does the tinnitus ever lessen after the taper is over? I'm so upset tonight. I guess I'm just looking for hope.

Its just oh so hard to see it at times...
