HELP!

Was on up to 40mgs daily of valium by buying it online in the UK due to anxiety. Non benzo wise Psych put me straight down to 10mgs, then two weeks later, 8mgs then two weeks later 6mgs. I descended into hell and felt like I was dying. So I sought advice on BB's and updosed to 30mgs daily by buying online again in order to do a slow liquid taper on my own. My Psych still thinks I am on 6mgs a day but I'm doing my own method in secret because they refuse to listen or updose me. I'm running out of valium and have a week and a half left before I run out to find that the online vendors where I was getting it from online can no longer supply. I've been trying to get some for two weeks now to no avail. I am desperate. What the hell do I do? It now seems I cannot get any more online and am bricking it about telling my Psych/GP as they simply will not listen. If I drop from 30mgs back to 6mgs daily I am going to be in all kinds of hell/seizures etc. Does anybody have any advice? Not sure there is any, but I thought I'd put this out there. I am so desperate for some help but there does not seem to be any. Nobody in the medical sector will listen to me. God help me.

I dont know, if you cant find a new Dr that u can tell the treth too, and have them work with you...

A rapid detox clinic isnt a benzo solution any more than a C/T...

Well someone clearly has to help you, you can't just be ignored because you made a mistake.  If we, in the UK, can give benefit money to pay for alcoholics to buy their fix then clearly someone has a duty of care to help you out.  I'm very sad about this actually -- it's difficult for the GPs because they have been told not to prescribe so they are under pressure and, of course, the change of category of the drug doesn't help either eg it's a criminal offence to be in possession without a prescription.  Having said this, no matter what predicament a person finds themself in the situation itself has to be resolved and I don't feel C/T or cutting a person's supply, thereby adding to health risk hazards, is the answer and is clearly not on. I don't know what to suggest other than if you're clearly unwell the only option appears to be to turn up at a hospital's A&E because they must surely have a Mental Health Team who could point you in the right direction.  What has happened to the Counsellor you were seeing?  Where is their input?  They need to be pushing your case for a workable solution with your GP IMHO!  Maybe ask to be referred to a psychiatrist as they should be more clued up on this than GPs.  Sorry I can't be more helpful ......  :'( :'(

Hi Maverick.  I am so sorry you are in a living hell right now.  Unfortunately, most docs don't "get it" that withdrawal is a real project and in all likelihood should be done many, many times slower than the medical people think.  You should be proud that you only updosed to 30mg rather than 40mg.  That's something!

 

I think for success you need to do a slow taper which you are trying to do.  I'd concur with benzogirl that if you can find it online then that may be your only answer just for the sake of your own health right now, in this immediate timeframe.  Hopefully you can then have a little time to find a doc or nurse practitioner who is knowledgeable.  I am glad you have the wherewithal to know what's best for you and are trying to accomplish that for yourself.

 

I'd also suggest Gooling "mental health (America, or UK, or where ever you are)".  You might be able to obtain provider info or speak with someone to help you find the right doctor.  Perhaps you'd get a referral to a local assistance center.  It's worth a shot.

I agree, it's a total nightmare -- all this suffering caused by ill informed GPs etc.  I'm disgusted by it to be honest -- I would bang their heads together if I had a chance    They have no perception of the suffering involved  :'(

Agreed. But I am lucky to have such a great pdoc. Without him I think I would be in a psych ward. I tried many before and they all were fools. So I get ya!

I have now found one and it is being shipped today, thank the stars.

But I couldn't have done this without the help of so many of you who have private messaged me, emailed me, and basically may have saved my life, although I know I have a long road ahead of me.
