current worst symptoms - need reassurance (again)

Early on, I had headaches, neck pain, numbness, twitching, and jerking.  These seemed bad at the time, but now I would love to return to those days.

During month six, I have been hit by new symptoms of horror.

1. adrenalin rush/rapid heart rate - usually occurs at night.  heart rate will rise to 100 resting and up to 150 by just standing up to go to restroom.  Often accompanied by feeling of electric current or extreme rush of energy in body.  It makes me think I could fly up off the bed or run screaming through the wall and outside.  anyone else get this?  I am taking Atenolol to help slow the heart which helps, but what the hell??

2. frequent urination - occurs intermittantly.  I get a feeling through my urethra like urine is in it, slight burning.  During this, I will pee frequently.  Sometimes every 15 minutes.  I will empty my bladder ( i think) and need to go another large amount again in 15 minutes.  The urine is often clear.  Anyone else?

These symptoms are terrifying to me.  I worry so much about some deadly disease.  I can deal with neck pain, but symptoms affecting my heart, lungs, kidneys are much more concerning.

I have been to ER, spent a night in the hospital.  All tests normal.

Thank you all so much for your ongoing support.  I have not been in a place yet to offer much support, but hope to in the future.  Gotta get through these waves.....

My worst just after jumping was the extreme adrenaline rush/fast heart beat, especially at night. I would go to sleep and literally be jolted awake by it every 30 minutes. So basically NO sleep. Remeron did seem to help. Then I had PVC's, which after awhile (and several heart tests came back negative) I learned to ignore. Thought I was turning a corner, then BAM - hit with extreme chest tightness and felt unable to breath. In fact, kept holding my breath. I unfortunately "tapped out" and reinstated after that.

But those were my 2 worst symptoms. The headaches and head pressure were horrible the first 4 weeks, but I felt like those were starting to abate. Definitely the head ache was for sure.

AND - just when I learned to live with the worst symptom or ignore it, my body came up with a brand new one for me! It's like it and Klon were in cahoots or something. OK, she's learned to live/get through each of these hellacious symptoms we've thrown at her. WHAT ELSE CAN WE COME UP WITH THAT WILL COMPLETELY ROCK HER WORLD? i KNOW! Let's make her not be able to breathe! That should do it! (aaaand it did...)  :(

I get the frequent urination, burning and even bladder and pelvis pain.  Have a possible interstitial cystitis diagnosis but, never had anything like this before benzos.  Often think its a UTI but, tests always come back negative.  Think it's one more symptom of benzo withdrawal.

David you are going to be okay.  This sounds like all withdrawal related symptoms.  Since you have had it all checked out, you know logically that you don't have some dreadful underlying disease.  These awful symptoms are just Jedi mind tricks to make us think we have.  The mantra on this forum is that if you didn't have a particular symptom before withdrawal, most likely its just that - withdrawal.

The adrenaline rushes were the worst for me too early on in my withdrawal.  My heart would race, my BP spike, and I had symptoms of POTS where I could not stand up without almost passing out.  I spent many many days in bed distracting myself with Netflix and holding on for dear life.  I also had the urinary urgency and frequency.  IMO, it was related to my stress hormones being all out of whack, retaining fluids at some points and then suddenly a diuretic effect to dump it all.

These things all settled out over time for me and yours will too.  Hunker down and ride it out.  Distract, distract, distract.  You are bound to see real improvement soon.

I actually do have heart disease so i also went to the ER for a stress test etc. but all came back normal. 99% of our many "health" issues during withdrawal are just that. Withdrawal.
