Hello Ashleyegger24,

Welcome to Benzo Buddies and congratulations on your pregnancy.  Please know that although I will give you information about withdrawal, it is important for you to work with your doctor.  We don't have expertise in helping pregnant women withdraw from benzos.

You are tapering very fast but again, if the doctor advises this for the health of your baby, then you may need to follow his plan. Generally we suggest a slow taper to minimize withdrawal symptoms. Usually a reduction of no more than 5-10% every 10-14 days is suggested. I'll give you a link to the General Taper Plans for additional information. By the way, what benzo are you taking?

I believe we've had a few members who were pregnant while on benzos, hopefully you'll get some information and support from them. I also think we have a few members who were pregnant during withdrawal recovery.

I'm sorry if this is a rough time for you, withdrawal can be challenging for some of us.

I'll also give you a link to the Ashton Manual. It is an excellent resource about these types of drugs and how to withdraw. It was written by Dr. Heather Ashton, an expert in the field.

When do you next see your doctor?  We'll be happy to support you during this process and reassure you that withdrawal is temporary and will ease up with time. Please do ask questions, we're here to help.
