Tried to make plans, had to back out

Now my friends and husband are mad at me. Bad anxiety day.  The thing is, I know getting out will help me. Damnit! I was doing so much better last week! What the Hell happened!  I am now in my 3rd week off and I was a relatively short term user. The first 2 weeks off I was fine. Maybe not perfect, but much better than this! All week has sucked. Anxiety and depression, crying, panic....God help me!  Then last night I read on here that a doctor said withdrawal isn't real! Well, all I know is, I have panic attacks, but not depression before benzos. Never felt this bad and hopeless before. Please tell me this is withdrawal and will go away!

It sounds like WD and it will go away eventually. Too bad the first two weeks did not continue for you. It hits of all differently and lasts different amounts of time. I make plans all the time and then cancel at the last minute. It is just part of what we go through. I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you! I'm glad I'm not the only one. My friends and family really try to be supportive, but they are wearing thin. I found myself on the Internet just now looking for proof to show my husband. He says he believes me, but it doesn't act like it sometimes.  We really don't need this extra stress!

It's hard for those who do not go through benzo w/d to understand.  It's a common theme among many of us.  The best thing is to educate.  I believe there is a website for the loved ones of people withdrawing from benzos.  It has some great info.  I don't know the name but google probably does.  🙂
