Crippling fatigue

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. Im coming up on 10 months after being cold turkeyd after over 10 years of benzo use. To say life has been hell since then would be understatement. Anyways to make long story short right now my main issue is the fatigue. Its unbearable. Its been a major challenge the last few months for even go from the bedroom to the kitchen or bathroom. Ive had to cancel a number of things because I just cant get out of bed. Its as bad now as it was even a few months ago. Is this normal? Its just so disturbing because my life has come to complete shutdown with this. There are a million horrible symptoms, but this has gotta be the top one. I guess Im just looking for hope because it's getting hard every day with this. Does it really get better? Is this normal to still be suffering like this after 10 months?

I wasn't C/T-ed but my taper was too fast for the dose I was on.

I have this issue to the extreme. Most days I am very lethargic, can't get out of bed, and I totally get you when you say even moving from one room to another is very difficult. I am also very weak now as a result. I feel like a half drowned sloth most days. If I dare try and do anything or have to, I pay for it massively afterwards. Tuesdays and Fridays for example when I have to pick my Subutex up from the pharmacy, the 15 minute walk up there will take me two hours (no joke) then I'll be completely stuck in bed for a good 48 hours after. I can't even clean my house. All the stuff I do do I will have to do in bits, and that's often washing two dishes, sitting back down then an hour later washing another two.

I'm not too fussed at the moment because the weather's cold and I've already lost all my friends to this, but the coming spring and summer months, when I would usually be outside, are set to be very, very depressing.

Yes I totally hear you with after doing things being wiped for an extended period. I find I have to be very careful in overdoing it or I get very sick with symptoms for what could be weeks. Im very gun-shy at this point of going out and doing things because of that, not I can right now anyways Im really weak. Its very frustrating. Concerned about my long term health because of this, it cant be good to be bed ridden like this for such an extended period of time :-/. Half drowned slot is great way to describe it. Yeah not looking forward to warmer months also, the cabin fever will really set in and will get even more frustrated that we cant move. Well let's hope were having more windows then where we can. Fingers crossed.
