No, I do not have MS!

I am so fed up of people around me telling me I might have MS.  :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff:

First it was S/O who pointed out a character in a soap he watches describe their MS sxs and said 'those are the things you have' before he even told me what this character's diagnosis was I said it'd be MS and I was right. I explained to him that yeah, my sxs are similar, but only came on after I stopped a stupidly high dose of Benzos. I told him Benzo WD mimics MS and people in WD frequently land up misdiagnosed.

Then my mum was on about it last night because a couple of people on my side of the family have been diagnosed with MS, but they noticed their sxs came on gradually and got worse over time, mine came on suddenly after stopping the Benzos. Then she even said the Benzos may have caused it!. If this were the case, these evil drugs would have gone to the same hell as Thalidomide.

If I am determined of one thing, it's I will NOT let myself be misdiagnosed and pressured to take meds that I do not need, specially ones like Steroids that are sometimes used for MS but would make someone in Benzo WD very sick and would probably land me in hospital if I let myself be lured into this trap. If someone told me I had some kind of degenerative condition, albeit true or not, I'd give up. I feel so close to giving up every single moment of my life now, it'd only take a small shove. At least I can face the day by telling myself I will wake up one day and all my sxs will be gone. I really don't think I could talk myself out of a misdiagnosis, not anymore, I seem to have lost my rational side from being sick for so long.

On top of all this, as I mentioned in my other post, S/O wants me to tell the addiction agency who prescribe my Subutex, about my WD sxs. This is because they always ask 'how is your health' and he says I should be honest. He's right, but we are dealing with very ignorant people who seem to have had a compassion bypass. Read my 'what do I tell them?' post for the details as I don't see the point in rambling on.

Sorry for the rant I just feel so defeated at the moment.

Me too! Please see my post about trying to make plans and having to back out. Sorry, but this shit is hard enough without adding the extra weight that no one believes you and makes you worry that something else is wrong! We just have to keep to this site. I mean, come on! There is no way this many people can be going through such similar things and we are all wrong and crazy! That makes no sense!

I'm glad you know you don't have it. They could probably convince me I have it. I keep believing I have some terrible disease that is going to make this last forever. My friend died last may of a brain tumor and it convinced me I had one too.

DannyApple,

You definitely don't have MS. Ignore them....I would be diagnosed with it too if I went to a doc. I just refuse to expose myself to this kind of toxicity. Stay strong!  :smitten:

Davis1,

You are just fine! If it makes you feel any better, I do the same thing...I diagnose myself with a diseases on a daily basis. And I'm completely healthy. We have to keep filling our mind with positive thoughts. I'm really sorry about your friend. You really are a great person...I hope God blesses you in many ways.  ;D

I would note down for you what kind of diseases I have been diagnosed in the last 10 years and I had not one really.

Don't let them beat you - perhaps they have a hysterical issue - send them to a doctor.

Can you show them the benzo article from Dr. Heather Ashton where she talks about 2 or 3 out of 50 patients ended up INCORRECTLY diagnosed as MS.  That is actually not that uncommon for people who have long term withdrawals.  My brother in-law has MS, and our physical symptoms are identical.  (No, I do not have MS - I had to have every medical test in the book done because I literally lost the ability to walk).

I was diganozed to have borelia last year. Pain in muscles and bones ... Now it turns out it was an allergic reaction to plastic fillings in my teeth. I nearly did because of this last night. now I have all the poison removed but it circulates now in my body from this procedure and I can feel how it is exploding all over my body. Without cortisone I would not be able to breathe

Another "myth" in my wd journey which turns out that my body is healthy! It just got poisoned.  :tickedoff:

I really want to freak out.
